I just got a new Bosch Axxis 2060 and I've had it for 5 months and I'm just starting to notice that when I open the door it smells like mildew. I've seen a little standing water inside the rubber thing around the outside, how do I clean this? My clothes don't stink yet, but the smell is only getting worse, so I'm sure it'll start soon.
This video will show you how to change a door seal on this

Most mildew type deposits in the boot gasket (rubber thingy) are caused by over powdering and low temp washes try a washing machine cleaner and try lowering the amount of detergent and a 60 or 90 deg wash every month
bad smells are usually caused by if you have a stand pipe drain the lower end of the hose is sitting permanantly in water and syphoning back into the appliance
I think this originates from a loosening of the seal between the grey rubber and the door itself. if it is tight enough the water may not seep as much into the area within the grey rubber.
Always leave the washer door open after use to allow inside to dry completely. Any remaining moisture invites mildew.

I noticed it when mine was a few months old, too, and was very disappointed. I could not find the source, either, but noticed that when I kept the rubber thingy wiped out and left the door open, it wasn't as bad. (not a good feature since it was in my kitchen.) I accepted that the problem was just an annoyance.
It is two years later, and I now have a housefull of clean clothes that I can't wear because they smell too strongly of mildew to wear.
I decided today to get to the bottom of it, because my son told me he pulled the rubber thingy back and there was a strip about 12" long by 3" wide of furry black mildew there. I scrubbed whatever I could of that out, and then decided that since I couldn't get it really clean I would like a new rubber thingy. So I tried to see how it was attached and discovered another forest of mildew behind the rubber thingy. I would try to get your money back if you can, I can't imagine what normal weekly maintenance would prevent this, short of disinfecting and drying it every time.
