Sony WEGA LCD TV Model KFE50A10 wont turn on

After doing a little research it looks like you can get the complete light engine for around $600.00
Time to think about getting a new TV

It sounds as if the LCD matrix has an issue most likely dust. Have you tried cleaning the Matrix itself? I can send you the LCD matrix cleaning instructions for a sony just send me a email at [email protected] and I can send them to you as a pdf file.

Sounds like the problem is in your LCD chips.

the projection tv has more of yellow color than any other color.

light engine is faulty. try to clean the 3 LCD flexible wire and its connector on your optic block. sometimes this connectors loosen up.

It is the optical block causing the problem. Sony has had recalls on a lot of the LCD rear projection tv's made over the last 6 to 7 years. The cost of the optical block is around 800.00. Due to the cost, I would check with Sony to see if it qualifies as a recall situation.

You need a new projector bulb. Google up your model and buy the best warranteed one you can find. Buy a "caged assembly" and not just a bare bulb.

Then unplug your tv and get a screwdriver. Follow your model's instructions and just snug down the electrical screws. Do not overtighten them.

Then consult your manual on how to reset the lamp timer so it knows you put a new bulb in and fires up from the first try.

Treat yourself because you've just saved yourself a trip from a repairman!!
