Hi, for your specific computer, the Dell Inspiron 1318 PC Notebook with a HardDrive (DVD+/-RW Drive), which mean that these type of DVD + R, DVD - R, and DVD + or - RW will be compatible for using on your computer. "If this helps rating the solution is appreciated, thanks."

You can use any kind of writable DVD the difference is that DVD-R, are more secure and data is better protected so you have a Combo or DVD+RW Drive 8X CD/DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive) that allows you to use a double layer DVD+ R or CD + R

if it works for you don't forget to rate me

thx

Can you get ANY numbers off the sticker? What you can do is contact DELL and give them your service tag number, they should have your product key (on the bottom as well). Also, the number should be in the CD sleeve that came with the laptop.

Vista will always prompt you for a password. If you didn't set one, then it's still blank.

Dell Inspiron 1318 Keyboard problem

If it is still under warranty just call Dell and have them send a replacement keyboard. If not, either try cleaning her laptop keyboard or just pick up a new one off some place like ebay for about $10.00 with free shipping.

Sound Card Driver for Dell Inspiron 1318 in Windows XP

Sorry for the typo, it was suppose to be Dell WEB site

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model laptop, better still type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop. Also make sure you select the Windows Vista version of the driver for your Windows operating system.
