IPAQ 6365 hard reset

IPAQ 6365 PDA/Phone (3 years old). Device resets unpredicatably when on battery losing data in ram, similar to hard reset, recovers data by restore. Battery level seems OK although on one or two occasions the standby battery was shown as discharged while the main battery was still OK.

I Also Had The Same Problem. Now I Fixed It. Go To Power In Settings. Click On The Advanced Tab. Uncheck The Box Which Says "Turn Off The Device If Not Used For" Box. This Will Solve The Problem. It Solved Mine. Thereafter Once, My Backlight Did Not Switch On. Fix This By Going Into Backlight Settings And Uncheck The Box Which Says "Turn Off The Backlight If Not Used For" Box. This Will Solve It. Then Soft Reset The Device To Change Settings. To Soft Reset, Find A Small Hole In The Left Hand Side Of The Device. Put Your Stylus In And PRESS ONLY ONCE. If You Keep It Pressed, Your Device Will Hard Reset. Don't Do That. Just Press ONCE.

Hard reset of my hp ipaq 510 i forgot my password

s.gifs.gifHP iPAQ 500 Voice Messenger Series - Resetting the Device
Sometimes you need to reset your iPAQ if, for example, it is not responding to your pressing a button or your tapping the screen. There are two types of resets.
  • Soft Reset - A soft reset stops all running applications, but does not erase any programs or saved data.
  • Factory or Hard Reset - A factory or hard reset clears all user-installed settings, programs, and data, and restores your iPAQ to factory settings.

Performing a Soft ResetPerform a normal or soft reset to stop all running applications, to restart the iPAQ after installing a new application, or if the iPAQ locks up.CAUTION:Make sure to close all running applications before performing a soft reset, since a soft reset erases all unsaved data in such applications.Perform a soft reset using one of these two options.
  • Turn off the iPAQ by holding down the End key.c01118005.jpg1 - End Key
  • Remove the battery of your iPAQ.

Performing a Factory or Hard ResetPerform a factory or hard reset when there is a need to clear all settings, programs, and data from the RAM.CAUTION:Performing a hard reset will return the iPAQ to its default settings and it loses all information (files and settings, among others) that is not recorded in the ROM. Back up all important information or data before performing a hard reset.Follow these steps to perform a hard reset and return your iPAQ to factory settings.
  1. Turn off your iPAQ by holding down the End key.
  2. Then hold down the center of the 4-Way Navigation key and turn on the iPAQ again while continuing to do so.c01118006.jpg1 - 4-Way Navigation Key2 - End Key
  3. A confirmation screen opens asking whether you want to perform a hard reset or not. SelectYes . The iPAQ will reboot with its original factory settings.
NOTE:The applications and data present on your iPAQ before performing the hard reset can be reinstalled by synchronizing your iPAQ with a computer using ActiveSync/WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center).NOTE:If you don't want the iPAQ playing a tune after you turn it on, create a new text document and save the document as StartUp.wav. Replace this new document with the file on your device.

I have replace my main battery and it showing 100% charge but I am facing bit trouble. My( PDA HP IPAQ 6365) battery not giving standby. what is backup battery? It is showing 0% charge? please help

The backup battery is not user replaceable. If you have some electronics experience you could open the device and replace it yourself but it involves cutting out the old battery and soldering in a replacement. An easier solution is to take it to a phone repair shop and get a quote to replace the battery, probably around $ 60. They may even give you a 3 month warrantee.

I want to format my ipaq hx2410 please tell me how to do that

To perform a hard reset you need to press buttons 1 and 4 in addition to the reset hole. This should do the trick.

The guidelines for resetting your phone is given below

Performing a Hard Reset

Perform a hard reset only when you want to clear all
user-installed settings, applications, and data from RAM
(Random Access Memory), where data and applications you have
loaded are stored.

CAUTION: If you perform a hard reset, your Pocket PC loses all data
and programs not saved in iPAQ File Store.

To perform a hard reset:

1. Press and hold down the Calendar and iTask buttons.
2. While holding down these buttons, use the stylus to
lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the iPAQ
Pocket PC for about two seconds.

3. When the Pocket PC screen begins to fade, release the
Calendar and iTask buttons first, and then remove the stylus
from the Reset button.

Note: If you simultaneously push and hold the Reset, Calendar,
and iTask buttons for more than two seconds, the battery
disconnects. To restart the device, either plug the device into the
AC Adapter or press the Reset button again.
After performing a hard reset, you may need to reinstall
applications stored in iPAQ File Store to restore shortcuts and full
functionality.

4. The Pocket PC resets and powers on.

To return your iPAQ Pocket PC to factory settings after
performing a hard reset:

1. Tap Start > Programs > File Explorer > My Device.
2. Tap the iPAQ File Store folder to open it.
3. Tap Edit > Select All.
4. Tap and hold the selected files, then tap Delete.
5. Tap Yes to delete all file in iPAQ File Store.

The Pocket PC restarts and displays the Today screen.

Performing a Hard Reset

user-installed settings, applications, and data from RAM

Battery backup related

Most of your data (phone directory, calendar etc) is stored your pda's ram. If your LiON battery runs flat , the pda wont start up, your backup battery kicks in to preserve the data. If your NiMH battery runs flat, you will loose all data in the phone or the equivalent of a hard reset.
