Your lamp is rated for 3000 hours. Is the fan working to cool the lamp? When you turn off the projector do you allow the fan to continue to run? If not the lamp is not cooling evenly and the lamp will fail. Th filters should be cleaned regularly and the vents be unobstructed.

Sony KDF50E2000 lcd tv has burned out it's second bulb. Replacement bulb was OSRAM brand. It only lasted 10 months, now it won't come on. Should I be looking at the ballast or did I just get a poor...

Hi,Osram lamps average around 3000-4000 hrs.Normally 1 -1 1/2 yr.I do think the lamp went out.The ballast is a possibility, when it's going bad it will make clicking noises or attempts to light the bulb.I recommend to get the Original Philips lamp for they average 6000-8000 hrs 3-4 yrs.

LAMP JUST WENT OUT

I have a 57" DLP and have replaced the bulb 3 times in 2&1/2 years. I'm not possitive but I think I have 6-800 hrs on it total. Mitsubishi claims it a part they expect to go out, but the told me they typically last about ten yrs. If you have proof of purchase they will send you a new one for free, otherwise it'll cost you about $150 on ebay.

Ptae 900 projector lamp time flashing red at 1800 hours.

It looks like the lamp is getting to the end of its life span. Most lamps on these and many projectors last about 2000 hrs and once they are getting near their end; the timer is setup to warn you about it.

Lamp

Hi Striker 53

Yes , a flickering image and dimming is a very clear indication that the lamp is going.

To make 100% sure and to give you some peace of mind - take out the lamp and you will either see vein like looking marks on the lamp or discolouration or even that there is a bubble at the end of the lamp's shaft.

Do keep in mind that a lamp normally gets a rating of say 2000-3000 hours , but that is only a estimate from the manufacturers factory. I've had lamps that had less than 300 hours on them , that needed replacement.

Once you replaced the lamp , remember to reset the lamp timer.

Projector Lamps for the Toshiba TDP-MT8 DLP

Have you contacted Toshiba? They will sell you a new fan. It is possible the power supply has a problem. Bulbs usually have a 90 day warranty. Contact where you bought the bulb. Prices are dropping rapidly for new projectors. Yoiu can buy a new oen for under 500.00.
