My VGA plug is missing on my monitor

If the cable does not disconnect from the monitor, then go ahead and buy a new connector http://www.startech.com/item/C15HPSM-High-Density-DB15-Male-VGA-Solder-Connector.aspx
I recomend this over buying a generic VGA cable and splicing wires, for better connectivity and less 'noise'.

ACER AL1715ebm LCD MONITOR BAD VGA CABLE

you are in a bad spot, the plug is sealed when molded. maybe ebay has a defective monitor and you could take the cable off it.

Monitors will usually snap apart with a butter knife.
