Compaq a3000 Anybody found a work-around to use this compaq a3000 with vista? Thankyou for any help!!

Go to the HP website (I believe HP bought Compaq). Under support, go to downloads or drivers. Do a search on your model. You should be able to d/l the driver for the printer.

HP does not currently have a driver release for the Compaq A3000 All-In-One that is compatible with the Windows Vista operating system. You can attempt to find an alternate driver that works but it may cause system instability, if it works at all. I recommend upgrading to a printer with a Vista-compatible driver available because it is the most stable solution.

this printer is made by Lexmark and uses 12A1970 (black) and 15M0120 (color) cartridges

Hi, There are no drivers listed on the Compaq site yet for Vista operating system for your printer yet but gettin in contact with them for an immediat upgrade notice is probably your best bet.
It also appears that HP also handle some of this printers downloads so you may be able to get it from there too.

Compaq never made a driver for this model that was for Vista. You can try downloading the XP drivers from www.compaq.ca Sometimes these drivers will work with Vista, sometimes not. If not, Maybe compaq will put out a driver for Vista in the future.

Onmly Compaq will have the approprive driver download. You are correct to assume a Vista compatability issue- this is becoming more evirdent with many peripherals. By the bye- the printer is of course a rebadged Lexmark or HP or Brother [ can be either] see if you can see which and check the appropriate web site.
