I have had this external drive for a minute and for some reason today my computer went down and now when I restarted the computer it does not show my E Drive where I placed my external drive. When I restarted again it showed the drive and space was taken but no folders showed then a couple errors : "9060" and "windows delayed write failed" popped up. It told me to restart so I did for a third time and I don't see the errors but the seagate drive is not showing, only the C drive.... Please help as I have lots of music production work on that drive. Any advice? Thanks!
I took my enclosure apart completely (not recommended since it was difficult breaking the snapping points), and I hooked up the drive just like an internal HDD. The BIOS was able to detect the drive so nothing is wrong with the drive itself.
I've also read that the controller on some of the FreeAgent drives fail. Mine started making buzzing sounds and finally failed. So you can take the drive out and put it in your computer, get a new enclosure, or send it back to Seagate where they should replace it.
I have the same problem, would a new enclosure work?
Send it back that recanise the problem and give u a new one for free u dont even have to send te old one back to then so u get a free hard drive

I tried to use a different USB cable. I tried to update my USB driver. I tried restart!!!
I have kind the same problem; I was working on my lap when suddenly I had to restart it, then my lap didnt recognize it; I decided to shut down and see in the morning if the problem was solved.
The next day my lap recognized easily and started functioning normally but a few minutes later Windows have some "errors" of delayed writing, then it only doesnt recognize it anymore. Any solutions?

could not find driver manager.
i could not find drivers for 500 GB FREE AGENT DESKTOP USB ST305004FDD1E1-RK.
It looks as though many are having this problem with the same model of the Seagate FreeAgent. What's the easiest way to retrieve the information on the drive if its unrecognizable? Any suggestions?
I am having a very similar problem with 1.5 TB FreeAgent drive. I am using the firewire connection on XP Pro (Service Pack 3). It recognizes at first then stops after a while and I get the "Windows Delayed Write Failed" error message. I can power the drive down and repower and it will reacquire and assign a drive letter, work for a few minutes then stop working again. I tried with USB 2.0 and had same problem.
I formated my external hard drive as it was not copying folders from my computer to the hard drive and now my computer won't recognize it on 'My Computer' When I go to devices it shows up there, but is now acting like a normal USB flash drive/memory stick and I don't have a clue how to get it back to my F drive and being able to copy downloaded music & movies from my computer onto the Seagate GoFlex 750GB again. Please help.
