Yes. I have the ws-65809, which is virtually the same model. There are 4 rubber plugs that come out on the sides of the TV. under these are four screws. WARNING! You must disconnect the wires connected to the screen before removing the screen or removing the top half of the TV. If you don't the wires will rip out. I believe they disconnect with 2 clips.

Add hdmi port to mitsubishi ws-65807

I doubt it as it was never designed for that kind of input, Component works best on this set and it should have only one HD input for a box marked in the menu as DTV.

Yes, There are four screws on the sides in big holes under black plastic caps, and then 3-4 screws on the front behind the speaker grill. Check to see if the rear cover will need to be removed too - I don't remember... Take the screen (Fresnel) assembly off first and then the whole top section comes right off. The top weighs the most out of all the parts.

Mitsubishi ws 65807 RED CRT

What I usually find on sets like that is that there is a loose solder joint on the CRT board itslef. You must get to the bottom of the picture tubes, pull off the CRT board from the red CRT and examine all solder joints on that board. Chances are one or more will be cracked, and resoldering all joints on the board should clear up your problem.
