I just bought the same tv and have the same problem. you need to hook up the hdmi cable and plug in the original cables that came with the playstation. or at least just the sound ones. the red in the white cords in input 1. It worked for me.

Our LG television seems to not be processing signal properly, the picture and sound is very slow and sounds distorted. When connected the playstation comes up with no signal. What could be wrong?

a few issues , you need to use the appropriate cables, for example , play station needs an HDMI only ,make sure whatever input the hdmi is in , , thats the input you use fot the play station .
it sounds like your using multiple wiring , im guessing because of the lack of info giving on your help request ,. make sure your using digital cabling for each device your hooking up. also , are you using a sound system , a tuner .... you should be using an HDMI or 2nd a component cable , those are the 2 best , all others are going to cause audio issues. give me more info and ill be able to tell you exactly how to fix your problem. good luck ..

I am having issues with my RCA Scenium D52W135D (playstation 3 connection). Recently, I have been having a very specific problem with this combo. I have it connected using HDMI to a Pioneer receiver...

Had the same problem. With mine the other day you probably moved your Playstation 3 too another tv and set your 1080i,720,480 to high deaf on settings in Playstation. You have to change them back to automatic that TV says HDTV but it only plays Playstation 3 on 480 checked in settings of Playstation. Played mine for 4 years on that TV moved and got a 3d wifi then dad got him one And was going to trash that RCA but I told him I would take it for now too keep from buying another TV at this time got it in my new home wouldn't play video but it. would sound tried different cables but still now change. But remembered i changed all of my settings over when I got 3D TV. Playstation 3 hadn't been on know other TV. Since I owned it but that RCA now won't work then came to me last night and playing it on both TVs but you have to change the settings on it before moving it or you cant see the screen to fix it do that guarantee it will fix it. Like you said everything else works PS 1,PS 2,DVD, cable, but PS 3 won't its the settings in theme, and audio.

I connected a sony playstation 3 and there is no sound while playing games. The video works and I can play the game, but there is no sound. I returned the playstation 3 thinking it was the console but the...

Adjust the audio output on your playstation and the television depending upon how you're connecting it to the television for picture and sound.

For an hdmi cable between the television and the PS3 only then adjust the audio ouput to hdmi on the PS3.
You do not need to connect anything else between the television and the PS3 besides an hdmi cable.

If you are using the colored plug type component or composite cables then it is av.

If you are connecting with a fiber optic cable to a surround sound system then it is set to optical.

Depending on what television you are using you would also have to change the Playstation to 48khz/96khz

Ps3 broken

When you attach your Play Station 3 to an HD TV through an HDMI port, the Play Station 3 will ask you if you wish to switch to HD Mode.

However, if you decide to move it to another TV that is not HD compatible, you will get no picture because the Play Station 3 is “stuck” in HD (HDMI) mode.

Follow these steps to resolve your problem:

1. Turn off the PS3 so it only shows a red light. You can hold the power button on the front until it goes into standby. To be sure, flick the power switch on the back of the Play Station 3 off and then back on.

2. Make sure your Play Station 3 is connected to your regular TV (not HDTV) with the standard video cables.

3. Press and hold the power button until the screen "flickers" and then immediately release. This should reset the video settings.

4. Wait a few seconds, and the Play Station 3 (PS3) logo should appear.

If this does not resolve the problem, follow these steps:

3. Press and hold the power button on the front until the Play Station 3 beeps and then turns off again. This should reset the video for you and you can turn it back on after this.

That’s it! You can play your Play Station 3 again!

Play station 3 hdmi-dvi

Yes you can. It will not be like a HDMI cable but it will be better than the RCA. Your image will be in your HDTV (1920 × 1080). But you will have to buy a HDMI cable and and HDMI-DVI adaptor. You will not have sound so you will have to connect either your RCA or if you have a Digital Optical Audio sounds better.

If you have any questions just ask.

Good luck!

Ps3 hdmi-av

i currently have the exact same problem...i always play HDMI but i went home from college for thanksgiving and wanted to play on a regular AV jack TV, hooked up, and have no picture whatsoever...and i think it's because of the settings on the PS3 since it's set to send out an HD signal...Well i found this straight from Playstation3.com, on the support/troubleshooting section

"
  • If the video output settings on the PLAYSTATION®3 do not match those of the cable or TV in use, there may be no picture. If the screen goes blank, turn off the system.
  • Then, with only the PLAYSTATION®3 and the TV connected, touch the system's power button for more than 5 seconds to turn the system back on. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution."
Hope it helps =)

Picture goes to a lime green fuzz and then no piture or sound!

which AV connection are you using? HDMI or the cable supplied with the PS3, If using HDMI, you have to set the PS3 visual settings to HDMI, to do this, use the cable supplied with the PS3, and have the HDMI cable plugged in. Then while using the cables supplied with the PS3, switch the settings over to HDMI, then change the TV's input selector to your HDMI and confirm the settings changes. Hope it helps take care
