Thin yellow line

Gateway fpd2185w monitor all of the sudden has a thin yellow line running down it. Would it be safe to say I need to change the cable in the monitor?

I purchased my monitor in 2006 and recently it started showing a very thin vertical blue line on the right side of monitor. Any advice on how to get rid of it would be appreciated.

Yea if you cannot stand the line, one of the line's driver for that column has failed. I do not know if the cost of repair would be greater than a monitor. I have been trying to fix a handful of monitors here at work to keep busy, and I am finding that the manufactures won't even offer the repair boards. A google search for a power supply card for an aopen is how I found this board.

I have a thin yellow line running from top to bottom about 10 inches from the left side, what's wrong?

This can be due to faulty LCD driver IC which creates a noise bar and is shown. Check the cords to the display and also the ground connection to the display. If this is good then the IC can be faulty.

My dell inspiron 9300 has a thin yellow line running down the left side of the monitor. some weeks it will be there, sometimes it won't. help!

Reseating the video cable eliminate those lines that appear.

If your not familliar in tearing down the laptop, try bringing the computer to a local tech and have the video cable reseated. They can open the hinge cover/panel in order to access the video cable at the back portion of the laptop.

Thin yellow line on the right of the LCD Screen

all those sounding intelligent and saying that replacing lcd hardware will fix the problem probably didnt have the problem themseleves . i had exactly same problem with samsung syncmaster 2043swx monitor . i just restarted and booted into safe mode ( by pressing F8 key at startup ) tried changing reolution in display settings . rebooted in normal mode and asll lines are gone and never appear again . i am uisng windows Vista . so i think it is probably a driver glitch something .

Green line from top to bottom of monitor

Try changing your resolution, if the lines stay in the exact same position (so do not change together with the resolution) this might be a mediacentre issue. Press CNTRL-ALT-DEL and see in the processes tab if ehtray.exe is running. If it is running, turn it of by unchecking it and see if the lines disappeared.

Thin yellow line on the right of the LCD Screen

If it's a straight line from top to bottom panel could be defective. Not much you can do as cost of panel will compare with a new monitor.

A thin horizontal line across the screen

I know I have seen thin lines in the past on older CRT monitors, these are usually wires which support the aperture grill. LCD is just a panel so this must be something different. What color is the line? It is probably an error in the scanning process.
