My hp 1740 monitor is displaying osd lockout and menu back ond forth and i cant get rid of it

  1. Power your computer completely off and then remove the monitor cable from the port on the back side of the computer case. Reattach the cable and make sure the pins are correctly screwed in all of the way. Power the computer back on and check to see if the OSD lock out message is still being displayed.
  2. Step 2 Check the manual that came with your computer or monitor and locate the troubleshooting section if you are still receiving the OSD lock out message. Find the OSD lock out heading and read the method that your particular model of monitor uses to remove the lock out. Follow the instructions to remove the lock out.
  3. Step 3 Attempt generic lock out removal procedures if you no longer have the manual that came with your monitor. Press and hold the "Menu" button located at the bottom end of your monitor for 15 seconds and wait to see if the OSD lock out message disappears.
  4. Step 4 Press the "Menu" button again if the lock out message remains on the screen. Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the main menu options. Highlight the "Settings" or "OSD Menu" option and then hit the Menu key again to access the new list of settings.
  5. Step 5 fix-lockout-display-computer-monitor-1.5-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep5 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/a04/or/7q/fix-lockout-display-computer-monitor-1.5-800X800.jpg'); }); The OSD Settings Menu Scroll down to the "OSD Lock" heading. Use the arrow keys to change the setting to "No." Hit the Menu key again to return to the main menu. Scroll over to the "Exit" setting and then hit the Menu key a final time to exit the menu setting and remove the OSD lock out.

OSD LOCK

Normally the OSD lock will only be displayed for 5 seconds.
Regardless you should be able to get rid of it by pressing holding the up arrow key for 10 seconds.
If this fails to resolve the issue try this. Disconnect power cord. Now press and hold button 1. Plug the power cord back in. You may have to press the power button while still holding button 1. The OSD lock should clear after that.
Hope this helps.

Osdlock on my computer desktop for 17'' monitor

You are having a problem with the OSD lock on your ViewSonic E70f Monitor. Is that correct?
If so, please follow these instructions to unlock or lock your monitor.
On some display devices, there is an OSD Lock that locks all current control settings and prevents access to the control menus until this mode is unlocked.
The method for unlocking the OSD is different for different monitors, but will be one of the 2 below. If the first method doesn't work, try the second.
Method 1: Press and hold both the [1] button on the front of the monitor and the down arrow button for 10 seconds.
Method 2: Press and hold both the [1] button on the front of the monitor and the up arrow button for 10 seconds.
Note: These same buttons, when pressed for another 10 seconds, will lock the OSD

Please let us know if you require any further help with this matter.

There are four adjustable options on the OSD settings screen: Lock OSD settings, Timeout, H Position, and V Position.
To change OSD settings:
1 Open the OSD setting screen under the Advanced menu. See
“Using the On Screen Display” on page 25.
2 Press the Browse buttons to select the option you want to adjust.
3 Press the Select button to check the option.
To change OSD lock setting:
1 Press the Browse button to select yes (lock) or no (unlock). The
setting is automatically saved when you change the value.
2 Choose Exit sub-menu and press the Select button to return to
the OSD Main Menu or press the Menu button to exit OSD.
NOTE: Once OSD is locked, all OSD functions including the
shortcut buttons are disabled. If OSD is locked, pressing
any button on the monitor directly opens the Lock OSD
settings window so that you can unlock OSD.
