Panasonic Pro 710 HD Shuts off for no reason

Trouble is in main power supply and likely puffed up filter capacitors on that board---common issue in a lot of sets.

when you try to start it again do you hear a humming comeing from the motor? can you jump start it by turning the drum while holding the start button? If you say yes to these questions you have a bad motor.

i have the same problem with my set.i placed a box fan behind the set and that seemed to solve the problem if u dont mind noise of the fan blowing

when the set shuts down if you try to press power again does the led blink? If so let me know how many blinks it blinks

FUNNY.... cause I just started having this problem also... I have had this TV since they first came out. LOVED it.. now I HATE it. I can watch for about an hour then POP the TV shorts.
wait a couple of minutes and you can get maybe another hour until POP again!

You could try taking the batteries out and cleaning the contacts, replacing the batteries and/or using sellotape to hold the batteries in place. They could be loose and disconnect when you move it in a certain way. If not the batteries, you could try further dismantling and cleaning, but you may just end up with a clean ball of sellotape that still has problems...! worth a try. stoodleysnow
