I have a Eureka Boss Model 411... I need to know where the reset button is for the suction motor. The canister was clogged on the backside, I didn't see it and the suction motor shut off. I have cleared the obstruction, but don't know where the reset is for that motor. I know how to reset the brush head motor.

If the motor is not hot and reset button has been pushed then their could be motor damage. Turn vacuum cleaner upside down and spin roller brush by hand. If it doesn’t spin manually you have a blockage or clog.

If your vacuum motor overheats, it will stop working. it will start working again once it cools.

Eureka Boss Pro 411A has no suction?

Question edited for clarity and toss in a few CAPS.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks.

It has to be a blockage and on that one, either behind the brush or in the hose.

I have a Eureka The Boss superlite upright vacuum Model405 I know...it's old..LOL. I was vacuuming and it just shut down and I was wondering if there was a reset button somewhere. Thanks

I am not sure about your "Boss", but a lot of vacuums have thermal cut-off switches built into the circuit so if the machine overheats from things like clogged filters/hoses the switch kicks in and kills power. You usually can NOT reset it manually ... you just have to wait until the machine cools down.

Where is the reset button the eureka the boss smart vac

There are many different models of Boss Smart vac so I can't say for sure without your model number but it most likely does not have a reset button. It may have a reset switch built into the motor.

Eureka Smart Vac The Boss no suction from either setting. I have taken it apart trying to see if it was clogged but it isn't. Checked the hose it is not sliced.

Remove the bag cover and feel for suction above the motor. If their is suction there then check the bag compartment is sealed. You can drop a coin down the hose to check for blockages all the way to where the bag attaches.

Dirt does not collect in container....collects in filter area

Small Filter at bottom of cannister may be clogged. Not letting enough suction draw dirt down.

Eureka 4331 (Boss Lite) vacuum doesn't pick up dirt anymore

I no more use Eureka 4331 (Boss Lite). But the most common reason for not picking up dirt might be the vacuum bag might be full. Need to be Clean or replace as recommended by the manufacturer or The air filter traps particles as the air travels through the vacuum cleaner. If the filter is clogged, the vacuum cleaner will not have proper suction. If your vacuum filter is clogged, refer to your owner's manual for cleaning instructions. I recommend having Eureka Power Speed for yourself. 7_21_2021_9_09_38_am.jpg

Eureka bagless uno 12 amp ( green)

Buckaboo, you say the debris no longer collects in the cup? Does that mean you don't have suction as well?

The brushroll has it's own motor so the brushes spinning doesn't necessarily mean there's not a problem with the wiring, the switch, or the motor.

Assuming you haven't inadvertantly set the selector switch to floor when you wanted to use the hose or vice versa, try the following.

Start with the motor/impeller first. Take the dust canister off and turn the vacuum on. It doesn't matter if you turn on the brushroll or not as you're looking for suction.

With the vacuum on feel for exhaust out the front of the motor (by the secondary handle on the bottom. Also put your hand over the area where the dust canister sits. You should feel strong exhaust and suction respectively.

If not, then you should take it in to a technician as going any further requires disassembly.

If you feel there's enough suction, then it may be as simple as a clog. This vacuum has a particularly easy air path to check. There's a clear snap-on door on the bottom to check the brushroll and neck. Then from there it's a straight shot through the canister itself before dumping inside and going through the filter. If it's the hose, you can turn the end clockwise to remove it from the body of the vacuum and use a broomstick to clear any clogs.

If it's not a clog or filter then you may try cleaning the seals (one round at the bottom of the canister where the canister mates to the body and a rectangular one in back of that where the dust runs up and into the canister.

Good Luck!

Eureka the Boss bagless

Sounds like you have a clog somewhere. Check the filter inside the dust compartment, if is very dirty it won't allow ait to flow thru, Part #62132, DCF-H filter. Check the hose, take it off if you can and drop something in it to see if it comes out the other end, if it doesn't, then the hose is clogged. Check bown by the brush roll, the inlet may be plugged. Also if the belt is more then say 6 months old, you may want to replace it, I am sure it is strertched, part #61120B, extended life belt.
