The cable inside that moves the antennae is broken. on many models you can just replace the antennae with cable instead of the entire unit whick will be a lower cost. ask at the volvo dealer.

My, 2007 Ford Five Hundred CD player works and I can hear it very well but I can only hear my radio (very softly) when the volume is turned up all the way.

Hi,

from your description, it sounds like we can eliminate your car speakers as the issue because the sound from your CDs does not have any issues. In this case, please double check that your car antenna hasn't been bent or tampered because this would be one cause of the radio sound not coming through properly. Also, please make sure to check multiple radio stations to ensure that the issue isn't with just one station.

Thank you.

Only dash speaker is working in my 2004 volvo c70 is working

It sounds like a wiring issue with the antenna wire, and speaker wire, Since only one speaker is working. If the car has sat for some time, specially over winter, you take a chance of mice or other rodents getting inside and nesting/ chewing through the wires. If it hasn\'t sat for a while then, maybe the wires were pulled under the dash from passengers feet or the drivers feet pressing on them. Unlikely, but possible, another reason is they could have just randomly came unplugged/loose from the back of the radio. Check the balance and fade setting on radio to make sure that it wasn\'t adjusted to 100% front. Make sure the antenna is extended if it has an external antenna. If all else fails get a new radio, but you should still get radio stations unless there is a lack of connection to the antenna. I\'m leaning towards the wire connections, not the radio.

The radio antenna does not fully extend or contract when radio turned on/off. I can hear the little motor humming away, but I need to manually pull the antenna up or push it down to stop the motor. ...

This is a shot in the dark ... spray your antenna with some cleaner or lubricant product. WD-40 comes to mind though this is not a true lubricant. Put a rag at the base of the antenna to keep the spray off the finish of your Toyota.

I hope this works for you ...

How do you fix the radio "i can not hear anything

Make sure the antenna is up and not broken, some of these have the power antenna and some dont, if the antenna is up then you will need to check the cable that connects to back off the radio but i doubt thats the problem unless someone was working in that area of the dash, the most common problem is the antenna is broken or not up. good luck.

Your radio is likely broken. 90% of the internal components might be working, but if the amplifier inside the radio is broken, there won't be any sound coming out.

My radio attena will no extend and their is no sound.but it is turned on

After some time the antenna gets so dirty that it cannot work properly. It is usually possible to assist the extension motor by pulling gently on the antenna when someone turns the radio on. Once extended give the mast a good cleaning and you should be back up and running.

I have just bought a lovely mazda 323F (s reg) however the electric aerial won't go up even though the motor (and the stereo) appears to be working. I have put some WD40 on it, is there anything else I can...

Does the antenna motor make any sound when you turn on the radio? (you should be able to hear it when it goes up and down. If you hear nothing, the antenna motor should be checked, as it may have burned out. If you hear something, the gears have probably stripped, so the motor runs, but won't extend and retract the antenna. countrycurt0
