I have a Viewsonic VA1912wb monitor. When I first boot the computer all is well, after about 15-20 seconds the monitor goes blank. The power light which went from amber to green as normal the goes off. I have unplug the power cord and go thru the process to get anything to happer again. When the power comes on at first eth video appears normal....

Any thoughts anyone.

Yeah... the only way too get it back is to:
    - unplug power
    - unplug video
    - wait ~30 seconds
    - plug in power
    - plug in video

If anyone has any clue what's wrong, I'd appreciate it

same problem, did your suggestion and monito powered up but did not see video and would shut down. Had to do a hard reboot to get everything back up to normal. This is the first time my monitor has shut down like this and I've had it for a couple of years.

I have a view sonic 1912wb a blank screen come on for 1 second then goes of. Can this be repaired?

The problem of this unit is bad or bloated electrolytic capacitors like this image:

My viewsonic monitor goes into sleep mode and it doesn't want to wake up. Eventually it works when i pull the plug and reconnect, or reboot but it is getting worse.

It may be getting worst because the capacitors in the power supply are going bad, look for caps with bulgign tops or seals, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further.

I have a VA1912wb ViewSonic monitor. Lately, when I power on the computer, the monitor is black, I press the buttons on the monitor, it takes 5-10min to power up.

The viewsonic monitor is a good unit.
If the unit takes more than 30 seconds to power up, you have a problem with the power supply and will have to be repaired.

No display on Viewsonic VA1912wb

Your monitor sounds like it has gone bad. Cost for a repair is not worth it, a new one would be cheaper. Prices have gone down a lot in three years

Viewsonic va1912wb monitor goes blank for few seconds and comes back and this happens very often

Your power/inverter board needs to be overhauled.
Your capacitors on the board are probably burned out.
If you open it up and send me a picture , I may be able to tell you if they are or aren't.
There is also a chance a transistor has gone bad on the board.
I repair many viewsonic boards on ebay

Viewsonic VA1912WB error says analog signal

I had a Gateway 19" TFT that did the same thing.
Does the power light stay on? If so, you more than likely have "dry" solder joints at the inverters. Take it apart & shoot a little solder on the inverter solder joints. Good as new now. The solder joints dry out because of the high heat generated. This is a very common problem.
