It indicates that the scanner bulb may not be heating up fast enough for the printer to work properly.
I found this fix on another forum. Sounds like it's worth a try:

With the printer off, press and hold power+cancel simultaneously,
Release cancel but keep power button pressed,
Press cancel button 4 times,
Release both.
I don't know what this does exactly, but it seems to reset something and make a fresh start, the printer will take longer to resume the power on sequence.

Press and hold the red Stop/Cancel button for 10 seconds. This will help by blocking ink level detection.

Indicator appears blinking lights on the printer " P,O, 8?. That Mean The print head temperature above the specified value. You can replace the ink cartridge

Display of this error on your printer means you need to reset the waste ink counter.Set the printer into service mode first.

• Turn the printer off
• Press and hold the Resume/Cancel button
• Press the Power button
• Now release the Resume/Cancel button and press it again twice.
• Now reset the waste ink counter by:
• Pressing on the Resume/Cancel button 4 times consecutively.
• Turn the printer off and on.

Now its set!

Press START - Control Panel - Printers and Faxes - double-click Printers and Faxes. Perform checks on:

1. The printer must be in a position Set as Default Printer (see picture)
2. Status = Ready (see picture)
3. Docs = 0. If there is a number 1 or 2 or 3, cancel all the print command, by the way: double-click the Canon MP250 Printer series - click Printer - click Cancel All Documents
4. The printer must be in a position online (see picture)

Wast ink tank full.
tune off unit
take power out.
hold power and cancel button in and put the power in.
release the cancel button but hold the power in. push cacel 2x
release the power buttong and press cancel 4x
push power button 2x.
swich it on it should work.

Condition: The print head temperature exceeded the specified value.
Problems and Solutions:

• Turn off the printer and then turn on if error still persist replace Ink cartridge or print head
