Cooktop burner switches do not ignite when turned onn

See where the range is plugged in. Check to see if there is power there. If so, the igniter must be replaced. This is not a difficult repair. I would guess there is a power problem, blown circuit breaker, open GFCI outlet or the plug is out.

Water has gotten into one of the igniter switches (below the burner knob). Disconnect power, let it dry out for several hours, and things should work again just fine.

Check that electric power closely. A boil over and attempted re-start or water (or other liquid) leaked / spilled into an igniter switch can trip your GFI outlet. Sometimes the outlet the cooktop is plugged into is fed from a GFI recepticle further " up stream " so you may have to look around to find a GFI which has tripped.

if u push the knob there is a clicking sound, if no the problem is damage the ignition coil, need to replace it,or check the outlet,plug or its batery operatet ignition? replace the batery.
the ignition is power operated,check the power source.

Could you unplug the two faulty igniters and see if problem remained

Could you plug one of the faulty igniter at the location of a good one. The goal is to isolate the problem. Is it the igniter or the electronic board.

Faulty ground problem may occur also after an spillover on the stove. In that case, use a cotton swab dipped in scrubbing alcool and clean the spark area on the igniter and the burner.

Throw your circuit breaker that leads to this unit for a few seconds, then reset the breaker This unit is very sensitive to power fluctuations.

We have an older Thermador Gas Cooktop type range. It was working fine until the cleaning crew came in, then all the burner igniters were clicking when turning on a single burner. I solved the problem by cleaning off the igniters. I first of course unplugged the power. Then I took a small wire telcom pic tool to scrape the white and brown deposits from the sides of the igniters. You could probably use something else similiar to do the scraping. I noticed a shiny surface underneath. I then went ahead and scraped and brushed clean the mating surface where the spark travels. I then vacuumed up the mess. My burners all worked great after this. Check to make sure your burner caps are aligned. I had this problem, and it turned out one of my burner caps was slightly askew. Putting it level fixed the problem.
