Access to the bottom of the baffles for tightening the screws requires the lifting of the top cover which also requires the removal of the front panel. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

The top panel can be lifted only after the front panel is removed. Open the door and remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

The top panel is held on each side of the cabinet by two hold down brackets. Locate and remove the 5/16" hex-head screws holding each bracket then swing the bracket to the outside and unhook it from the slot in the top panel lip.

Open the door then lift the front of the top panel and tilt it toward the rear of the dryer.

Rotate the drum until the baffle screws are positioned on the top for tightening.

Reinstall the top panel and the front panel by following the removal steps in reverse order.

Fin that tumbles clothing inside dryer coming loose, how can I tighten it?

These fins are usually screwed on from the outside of the drum. If you're up to it this is a simple but time consuming fix. Take the cabinet off the front of the dryer, the top will come off as well. be careful of the wires from the control console, they will stay attached to the dryer. Tighten the tumbler fins on the drum and then re-assemble the cabinet. Typically the screws you need to access are the same used for the door latch and hinges. They go back together easy ........

How do I access the drum to tighten the dryer fins

Disconnect power to the dryer !!! Remove the 2 screws holding the door hinges on and remove the 2 screws opposite the door hinges . This will let you pull the top of the front panel outward and lift off the bottom clips . If you have enough room , slide your arm thru the front opening to tighten the screws . Otherwise , remove the 2 screws holding the clips for the top , 1 on each side , and lift the top , to get better access to the screws .

Fins inside drumare loose

Open the top ... held down with spring clips ... remove the front panel ... probably 2 to 4 screws ... be careful of the wires ... unplug the machine of course. Remove the drum ... but first observe the belt arrangement so you can reinstall. Tighten the 'fins'. Reverse the procedure.

You can use a pry or large screw driver to pop the top. Be careful of the finish.

Loose fins

Hi, Unplug the dryer. Remove the screws on each side of the door opening. The front will pull toward you and lift off the clips at the bottom. You have the option to take the door off or leave it hang there. With the front off, you should be able to reach in and tighten the screws that hold the [addles in place. Just turn the drun by hand to get to the next paddle. You will need a 5/16" or 1/4" nut driver/socket.
Please let me know if this helps you at all or if I can assist you further.

Thanks

Loose fins- How do we tighten them or can't you

You'll have to pop the top of the dryer. Insert a stiff putty knife into the split between the top & front, about 2 - 3 inches in from the side. There will be a spring catch you need to push in, about 1/2 inch. There is one on each side. Stand the lid up and HOPEFULLY, the fins are held in with screws or bolts. Just tighten them. If they're rivited in, you'll have to use an epoxy putty to lock them into place. Sneakers in a dryer, without a few towels will knock them loose.

FIn inside neptune md55 dryer came loose need to remove side pane

I had the same problem but it's the FRONT Panel you need to remove. Before you start, unplug the thing first. BTW I did the whole proceedure in 10 minutes using an electric screwdiver / philips bit and a socket set with an 8mm socket with my leg in a cast. You can do better, I'm confident!

Two 8mm hex head bolts hold each fin on the drum. They can be tightened. You need to open the dryer front since they bolt from the outside of the drum. To open the dryer front you first take the door off by removing the two philips head screws, then slightly lift the door and pull toward you (the door hinges have little hooks on the end that inserts into the slots (this little design keeps the door from falling off during removal and install-nice). Then remove the two philips screws on the other side of the door opening (opposite the door hinges). These screws hold two plastic brackets (be sure to see how they are aligned before you remove them so you know how they go back on.

Now the front frame panel looks like an "H" . Grab the top two arms of the 'H" and give a quick ****. The top arms of the 'H" will come loose. The bottom part is held by a couple of clips, just pull up and the front panel comes off.

You will be able to spin the drum until the hex bolts for the fin(s) in question are visable / reachable from the right side (just above the heater unit-hope you unplugged the dryer earlier). I tightened it using an 8 mm socket.

Now reverse your steps: put the front panel back on the bottom clips and snap the top "H" arms back in place. Reinstall the plastic clips / screws and then put the door back on.

One of the fin inside dryer drum has come loose, howdo I open top of dryer to tighten fin

Depends on the model. The easiest one's you will be able to insert a small flat head screw driver between the front and the top panel and push on the green clips (a flashlight makes a world of difference here). With this style you just need to install a screw back in the loose fin that keeps it tight. The slightly more difficult style, you have to remove the 2 phillips screws from the door hinges and the 2 screws straight across from them. This will let you get your front panel off (remove by twisting the tops of the panel slightly and pulling) There will be 2 5/16" screws to remove that hold the top down. Same procedure, install screw in the fins to keep them tight. How do I tell which style I have you ask? Simple. If the front panel goes all of the way across at the top, it's the first solution. If the front panel goes about 2 " then the door, then another 2", it's the later plan.Message me back if you are still having trouble.
