Tip & How-To about Samsung DLP HL-P5663W 56" TV

Repair job update

Update
A number of people have commented that after changing the color wheel, their red and blue colors are reversed. This is a different color wheel and a newer model set than is documented here, but, some report that by removing a jumper on the color wheel, the problem is resolved. The jumper is as shown in this picture, below the yellow/white label.

Samsung HLR5078 50" tv - replaced a shattered color wheel but the colors are way off with the new one - yellow in place of both red and greens.

I'm not sure you received the correct color wheel. Do you have anything left of the shattered color wheel to compare it to the new one? Seems if you got the correct wheel then the colors should of been the same. Color wheels spin at the same rate of 60Hz. The only reason why you would get the wrong color is that the color on the wheel is in the wrong placed at the right time. I would see if you can get a wheel the same # as your original one.

Samsung DLP Facial Colors off after changing color wheel

Do you mean that red and blue are reversed? If so, you may need to remove a jumper, see end of linked article. Pinkish-yellow or orange sounds like a good description of skin tone, but perhaps too intense. If the color is too intense, can you just lower the color level with the color control? Or can you just change the tint with the tint control? Otherwise, see http://www.jangro.com/electronics/samsung-dlp-replace-color-wheel/ including the comments at the end.

adjusting color after color wheel replacement samsung dlp tv

There should be a jumper somewhere around the color wheel. I am having a problem with my color wheel, and after doing a lot of research I found that people that have the same problem as you changed the jumper setting. Try looking it up here on the net. Should solve your problem.

Samsung Color Wheel

Here's a good article on the Color Wheel
http://www.jangro.com/a/2006/07/24/samsung-dlp-replace-color-wheel/

It says if your red and blue colors are reversed removing the jumper should fix the issue.

HL-P5663W

Well after reading a lot more on the internet I figured out that there is a jumper that has to be removed when you update to the new style color wheel. Also when you get the new wheel there is a new set of color setting that needs to be programed into the tv itself. NOW the picture is AWESOME! better than when it was new.
