Cannot find drivers for product.

I have bought a Hanns.G HW191d LCD monitor. I was trying to install the monitor with the installation disc, but it has drivers for Windos Vista users but not Windows XP users. Please can you tell me where I might find the drivers for Windows XP for this monitor. Thankyou.

    Same problem as others

  • Anonymous Jul 31, 2008

Definitely have same problem. I downloaded a generic driver that allows 1600X900 resolution. this is the closest generic i could find to the 1440X900 spec for the monitor. works ok but would be nice if proportions were accurate.

    Same problem

  • Anonymous Apr 07, 2009

I bought the hannspree 23 hf237 monitor, had the same problems with drivers for XP. Used the link HW191D as shown, worked great. The next time I turned on the computer it returned to 1280 by 768 pixels.
I tried reloading the hw191d drivers, but no change.

Hannspree said that there is no need for a separate driver for XP and suggested I check for an updated driver for my old NVIDIA Video card... That was the answer. I now get the full 1400X900 resolution.

I had the same problem with my new 229H 22" inch monitor, I found it uses the default video driver from windows XP, so to correct these problems update your video driver in XP with newer drivers. I found one one machine with a onboard video it was not so easy because the video uses shared video memory from the MB. I had to update the MB video driver AND increase the video shared memory to the max 128 Meg to get a fair picture with a high resoultion. The other machine with a seperate video card was a snap and it went better and in the end was a crisp picture. You can read more on the website:

My only comlaint is the sound when using the headphone jack only comes out mono and not stereo.

I will upload a Copy of the original CD without the Adobe PDF installer that came with it, I made it executable just in case people do not have WinZip or WinRar installed, if you burn it into a CD it should be autoexecutable under Windows XP, just as it is originally, but what will do is install the INF file, you only need to show windows where the file is like SavageMind explain very good how to do. this is the XP version that came originally with the Monitor, exact model writen on the back reads: HW191DP.
I hope it helps someone :)

Many widescreens have issues with OLDER DRIVERS. Update your video adaptors drivers. If you do need a monitor inf driver for the monitor for XP or Vista, it's here..

http://america.hannsg.net/download_file.jsp?file_name=/_download_/filectrl/HW191D_Vista.zip

The monitor is fine with XP. "Mr" either has an ancient video card or a video card with ancient drivers that misinterpret EDID information. It's a common malady with some widescreens.

The solution is as I already said. Update your video card drivers, and/or use the driver inf package I linked to below, after spending 30 seconds in Google looking for it. The driver says "vista" in it's name, but it works in XP too.

Hanns-G HW191D LCD - Image there, just not bright! Monitor looks black

There is a flourescent light that backlights the screen. If your screen brightness control will not make the screen any brighter, then the backlight has stopped working. You will either have to replace that light or replace the monitor.

My Hanns-G hw191d monitor quit coming on. The green light at the side is on, indicating that it is receiving signal from the computer, but nothing displays on the screen. Is there a fix, or should I just...

First, flip the switch for your power surge protector, to see if that resolves. Then, test the monitor on another computer and see if it works. If the monitor still doesn't work, look for another one. Hope that helps.
