Norton 360 does not update through proxy server

Best thing to do is send an email to customer support, have had some experience with Norton before, customer support are very helpful.

This can be resolved by installing and scanning the computer using Norton 360.

After downloading Norton 360 double click on the installation file and follow on screen instruction to install the file.
Click on skip if it ask for product key.
After installing Norton 360 open Norton 360 and click on live Update to download latest virus definition on to your computer. This will helps norton to find and heal the up to date virus.

After running live update perform complete system scan using Norton.

Note:

• Uninstall existing Antivirus on your computer before installing Norton 360.
• Your system performance will be little low for about 7 to 10 days after installing Norton, after this period it will become Normal.
• This is trial version which will provide you 30 days validity but even 1 year subscription does the same task. You can install whatever antivirus if you wish to switch over.

All you need to do is activate the Norton 360 once again, so that the program will get updated with the actual license you have purchased.

1. open the Norton Program
2. Click on Help and support
3. click on activate Norton
4. Follow the screen and enter the product key when it prompts you to enter it. and click on next.

Hi. Norton can be finnicky at times. I had trouble a few days ago trying to update mine. Gave up one day and the next day it was fine. If you have been unsuccessful for a couple days then I would use the online help (chat) from Symantec. It is very good and is free for 360 users. Access it from the help menu.

If that is not satisfactory, you may have to uninstall and reinstall the product. You will need to be registered at Symantec and have the CD Key. If you choose this you should use the Norton Removal Tool found at:

Select your product. Save the file to your desktop. When the download finishes, run the program. Then reinstall the original program, and run Live Update first thing after verifying your subscription.

If you have the subscription renewed, you should be able to download the software directly from symantec online. You'll need to activate it to use it so you may have to contact Symantec customer support.

Download and run the LiveUpdate fix tool from Symantec HERE

After you run the fix tool, open Norton 360, click on the "Scans" link at the top of the window, choose "Comprehensive Scan" and then click the "Go" button This will take some time, but will thoroughly inspect your computer for infections

To address your other question regarding the LiveUpdate settings, you can change the configuration to use an HTTP proxy. To do so, please follow these steps.

1. Open the "Symantec LiveUpdate" Control Panel.

2. In the LiveUpdate Configuration window, click on the "HTTP" tab.

3. Click on the radio button that says "I want to customize my HTTP settings for LiveUpdate." Enter the information for your HTTP Proxy server, click the "Apply" button, and then click the "OK" button.
