Hey achek76,
I would assume you are trying to reach for router
configuration page via your internet browser.
The first step I
would take it to confirm this is indeed the correct address for such a
page. In order to do this follow these steps:
Once opened you should
have what looks like a black box that you can write text in. Write in
the following command:
Once this command is wrote you should
get output that looks like this, along with some others but we are only
worried about one and that's the default gateway which I
have made bold. This will be the address required to reach your router
configuration via your internet browser. (Ignore the address you see
here as they are mine and are no use to you.)
Windows IP
Configuration
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Link-local IPv6 Address . .
. . . :
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 172.16.121.51
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.254.0
Default
Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 172.16.120.1
If you confirm
you are using the correct browser I would then proceed with resetting
your router via the small pin hole located on the back, this will
restore it to factory defaults and maybe clear up any problems the
router is experiencing.
Once reset run the command I mentioned
above and check your default gateway again and type that IP into your
browser to access your router configuration.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Have D-link 704 router, can I connect the DI-524 to it also to add wireless?
Hi, I have not tried it myself with DLink but with LinkSys, yes it will work. It may take a little configuration tinkering but should work. However a few notes: 1. You should only have 1 DHCP server (both have this feature); 2. You can not have 2 identical IP address; 3. I suggest you make the 524 as the gateway and the 704 as a slave; 4. In effect you will connect 1 of the LAN port of the 524 to the WAN input of the 704; 5. You have to copy the WAN settings of the 704 to the WAN settings of the 524; 6. Or if you want to retain the 704 as the gateway, disable the identical features in the 524. I suggest you treat the 524 as a client of the 704. Hope this gives you some idea and work out for you as it did with my LinkSys. Goodluck and kind regards.
SOURCE: how to port forward using Dlink DI-524 for Emule?
DMZ is a feature that is included on some routers but is not in Internet sharing software. A DMZ allows a single computer on your LAN to expose ALL of its ports to the Internet. When doing this, the exposed computer is no longer ?behind? the firewall. Port Forwarding vs DMZ A DMZ is far easier to set up than port forwarding but exposes your entire computer to the Internet. Sometimes TCP/IP applications require very specialized IP configurations that are difficult to set up or are not supported by your router. In this case, placing your computer in the DMZ is the only way to get the application working. Placing a computer in the DMZ should be considered ?temporary? because your firewall is no longer able to provide any security to it.
