1 Red Light

Your system indicates this error when only the bottom right part of the ring is flashing. When you have 1 red light on the Xbox 360, it is usually associated with an error code you see on the screen, such as the Xbox 360 error code E74.

4 Red Lights

If you have to get any flashing lights on your Xbox 360, pray that this is the one. If the entire ring flashes, it is a minor problem that indicates that the AV cable isn't connected properly or in rare instances, the cable is damaged. Make sure everything is properly connected and replace it if It still doesn't work.

the best thing to do is to contact the customer support because there are many occasions on which it can show you this message and you can't be sure which is which.

Turn on unit until the red light flashes and the error code(E 73) shows up on the screen. Next insert toothpicks in the back of the console(while unit is running) into the cooling fans, this is to suppose to overheat the console and start two red lights flashing. Turn off console when this happens(unplug all cords from console) and turn the system back on.

you have a problem with you ethernet port,phone microsoft if still covered by warranty

usually with 1 red light errors, there will also be an error that shows on the screen like e73, e74, e75, etc. You will need to first get your secondary error code.

then enter either the e-code from the screen or the secondary error code into the repair guide

Take a huge hammer and smash the light into pieces. There you go, no more red light...

General Hardware Error: Ethernet port... this error is caused by a problem with the Ethernet port.

What is the error code at the bottom of the screen & check for flashing red lights on the power button if 3 illuminate it the infamous RROD(Red Ring of Death-google it) which you will get a free repair for if its the bottom right quadrant flashing red then its most probably E74 or E61. E61 is a hard drive related problem so try playing without it, & E74 is the AV cable snapped inside or the GPU/CPU inside the xbox 360 has weak solders on it, I suggest MS support ASAP.

Do you get an error message on your tv screen? 1 flashing red light means there is a hardware failure such as your DVD drive hard drive, dashboard error ect. Not much can be done about this issue besides having microsoft fix it.
