I have a sansui receiver 9900z with a broken antena,I think. The broken part was connected to the rear near the antena connectors. I am not sure if this is suppose to ba a antena or not? The set plays well but will not pull in am or practically no fm stations.

The back of the receiver should be marked for FM and AM antenna connections.
Usually the FM antenna needs at least a dipole antenna or a "T" antenna. The part that broke off is probably just the AM antenna.
If you go to your local Radio Shack, you can get a cheap AM/FM antenna for under 20.00. (probably under 10.00)
After hooking up an antenna, you should be good to go.

I hope this helps.
Good luck.
Please remember to leave a rating if I have helped you with your question.

Sansui G-5700 protection light wont go on

Try checking the speakers and connections. Those symptoms occur if there is a short. Disconnect all spkrs, turn it on and if it stays on connect one speaker at a time until it shuts off.

I have a Sansui RZ-7001 home theater system but cannot get surround sound when connecting my LG Blu-ray BD 550 to it. What am I doing wrong?

fred i dutoi,

Check your connections first. Make sure your input on the Sansui RZ-7001 menu is selected to dvd. Also, make sure the blue ray cables are also inserted in the correct inputs on the rear of the receiver(dvd input). via. rca cables(red, white & yellow) the yellow is the video, hdmi, or optical. If you do not hear sounds coming from your speakers you need to check the separate volume levels for the speakers within the receiver itself. Front and rears having different volume levels within the receiver. Hope this helps. Also make sure you check the volume on the dvd player. Thanks for visiting FixYa.com. Have a great day !

1) Look in the trunk, near the hatshelf for the connector that hooks to the rear window, to make sure that it is connected, AND that it receives electricity when activated from the dashboard. If it receives 12 volts or so, then inspect visually the resistance lines in the window, and check that they are not scratched or broken. Electricity will not flow if those lines arent continuous. I am assuming that you checked for broken fuses first. Broken lines can be repaired.

Cut antenna wire raymarine 300waas gps

That unit uses a TNC connector. Just have someone install a new one on the end of the cable. IT's a little more difficult than a F connector for a TV but not rocket science. You can also send it in to Mid-Shore Electronics. Just google them and get their number. They have alot of experience with the older stuff.

My tv has a different tv out where the antena is connected. Antena tv has a kind of like a screw at one end and at the other end is the antena. All tv has the right connection for the antena but my daewoo...

it sounds like either:
-the tv was intended for a foreign market.
-the tv does not have a tuner (it is just a monitor)

the connector on the antenna is an "f" connector.

if the connectors on the tv are "rca" then it is probably just a monitor - and needs an external tuner (ie dedicated tuner, cable box, tivo, vcr, etc)

if the connector on the tv is a "bnc" then the tv may be meant for the european market, and probably can not tune channels in the us.

see wikipedia.org for images of bnc and rca connectors.

you can certainly get an adapter from/to any of those connector types, but i think that alone is unlikely that will solve the problem. check or find the manual for the tv - be sure it actually has a tuner compatible with the signals you want to receive..

Sansui 9900Z. Tuner does not fine tune such as 89.1, 89.2, etc, it jumps from 89.0, 90.0, 91.0 etc. Can you offer any help.

Hi aline1929

This is an early synthesised tuner built in the early 80's. In saying that, it is still a revered receiver for performance and sonics. It will have a fault in the in the divider stages of the freguency synthesis circuit that will need a tech to have a look at for you. Frequency synthesis faults can be difficult to repair if you do not have previous experience. Where abouts in the world are you and I will try to steer you to someone that can help you to repair the problem.

I am more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about it, just give me a hoy :) Thanks for using FixYa, If you consider the advice I have given you as sound, a FixYa rating is a great reward for my efforts to help you. Cheers.
