How to use the self clean feature for a Frigidaire FES 355 ASF

Hi Anonymous, this is AP!

I understand you are interested in the self-clean process for your Frigidaire slide in range, model FES355ASF. Start by removing all excess spillovers in the oven cavity before starting the self-cleaning cycle. To clean, use hot soapy water and a cloth. Large spillovers can cause heavy smoke or fire when subjected to high temperatures. Clean any soil from the oven frame and the door liner, but avoid cleaning the oven door gasket. These areas heat sufficiently during self-cleaning cycle to burn soil on. Clean with soap and water. Remove the oven racks, broiler pan and insert, all utensils and any foil. These items do not withstand high cleaning temperatures

Make sure the clock shows the correct time of day. Push the CLEAN button "---"will appear on display. Push the up arrow button until "3:00" appears for a 3 hour clean cycle or push the down arrow until "2:00" is displayed for a 2 hour clean cycle. Once the time is selected and released CLn will appear on the display. The door will then automatically lock and the LOCK indicator light will flash. Do not open the door while the indicator is flashing, usually about 15 seconds. The LOCK display will stay until the cleaning cycle is complete or cancelled, and the oven temperature has cooled to a safe temperature.

In the event you need to stop the cycle at any point, simply push the CLEAR OFF button and the door will automatically lock once the oven has cooled, usually about an hour.

Best of luck,

Make sure you have everything out of the oven, including the oven racks.

1. Press SELF CLEAN.
2. Press the TEMP/TIME "+" or "-" arrow pads to enter the desired self-clean cycle.
3. Press START.
The oven door will automatically lock. The DOOR LOCKED and CLEAN indicator lights will be
displayed.
4. When the self-clean cycle is complete and the oven cools, the DOOR LOCKED and CLEAN
indicator lights will turn off.
5. When the oven is completely cooled, remove ash with a damp cloth.

Recommended times are 2 hours 30 minutes for light soil and 4 hours 30 minutes for heavy soil.

If your oven has a HI and LO self clean time, HI is 4 hours 30 minutes and LO is 3 hours 30 minutes.

It is also recommended that you remove anything plastic from the top of the stove during cleaning.

How do I set the oven to self clean

The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly. After a Clean Cycle You may notice some white ash in the oven. Wipe it up with a damp cloth after the oven cools. If white spots remain, remove them with a soap- filled scouring pad and rinse thoroughly with a vinegar and water mixture. These deposits are usually a salt residue that cannot be removed by the clean cycle. If the oven is not clean after one clean cycle, repeat the cycle.
You cannot set the oven for cooking until
the oven is cool enough for the door to unlock.
While the oven is self-cleaning, you can
touch the TIMER/CLOCK pad to display the time of day.
To return to the clean
countdown, touch the COOKING TIME pad.
If the shelves become hard to slide,
apply a small amount of vegetable oil or cooking oil to a paper towel and wipe the edges of the oven shelves with the paper towel.

Using the self-cleaning oven.

How to Delay the Start of Cleaning

Make sure the clock shows the correct time of day. If your model has a latch, latch the door. Touch the SELF CLEAN pad. Using the + or or the number pads, enter the desired clean time. Touch the DELAY START pad. The earliest start time you can set will appear in the display. Using the + or or the number pads, enter the time of day you want the clean cycle to start. Touch the START pad. On models without a door latch, the door locks automatically. The display will show the start time. It will not be possible to open the oven door until the temperature drops below the lock temperature and the LOCKED DOOR light goes off. The oven shuts off automatically when the clean cycle is complete. When the LOCKED DOOR light is off, slide the latch handle to the left as far as it will go and open the door. If your range does not have a latch, the door will unlock automatically. n The words LOCK DOOR will flash and the oven control will signal if you set the clean cycle and forget to close the oven door or forget to latch the door on models with a latch. n To stop a clean cycle, touch the CLEAR/OFF pad. Can I clean a TruTemp oven with soap and water without ruining it?

Hi,

Yes you could clean it.

Check few details :-

t the bottom of this post you will find the web address for your ranges manual and the self clean system is in side this manual.

How to self clean

If your model has a door latch, never force the latch handle. Forcing the handle will damage the door lock mechanism.
The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly.
Before a Clean Cycle
For the first self-clean cycle, we recommend
venting your kitchen with an open window
or using a ventilation fan or hood.
Remove any broiler pan, broiler grid, all
cookware, probe and any aluminum foil
from the oven—they cannot withstand the
high cleaning temperatures.
NOTE:
If your oven is equipped with nickel oven
shelves, remove them before you begin
the self-clean cycle.

If your oven is equipped with gray
porcelain-coated oven shelves, they may
be left in the oven during the self-clean
cycle.
Soil on the front frame of the range and
outside the gasket on the door will need to
be cleaned by hand. Clean these areas with
hot water, soap-filled scouring pads or
cleansers such as Soft Scrub®. Rinse well
with clean water and dry.
Do not clean the gasket. The fiberglass
material of the oven door gasket cannot
withstand abrasion. It is essential for the
gasket to remain intact. If you notice it
becoming worn or frayed, replace it.
Wipe up any heavy spillovers on the oven
bottom.
Make sure the oven light bulb cover is in
place and the oven light is off.
IMPORTANT: The health of some birds
is extremely sensitive to the fumes given
off during the self-cleaning cycle of any
range. Move birds to another well ventilated
room.

NOTE: Use caution when opening the upper
oven after the self-clean cycle has ended.
The oven may still be hot.

How to Set the Upper Oven for Cleaning
On models with Gas/Control Lockout,
touch and hold the Gas/Control Lockout
pad for 3 seconds to turn it off.
NOTE: The surface burners must be turned
off prior to the self-clean start time.
If your model has a latch, latch the door.
Touch the Self Clean pad.
Using the number pads, enter the
desired clean time, if a time other than
4 hours is needed.
Clean cycle time is normally 4 hours. You can
change the clean time to any time between
3 hours and 5 hours, depending on how dirty
your oven is.
Touch the Start pad.
On models without a door latch, the door
locks automatically. The display will show
the clean time remaining. It will not be
possible to open the oven door until the
temperature drops below the lock
temperature and the LOCKED DOOR
light goes off.
The oven shuts off automatically when the
clean cycle is complete.
When the LOCKED DOOR light is off,
slide the latch handle to the left as far
as it will go and open the door. If your
range does not have a latch, the door
will unlock automatically.
The words LOCK DOOR will flash and
the oven control will signal if you set
the clean cycle and forget to close the
oven door or forget to latch the door
on models with a latch.
To stop a clean cycle, touch the Clear/Off
pad. When the LOCKED DOOR light goes
off, indicating the oven has cooled below
the locking temperature, unlatch the door
(on models with a latch) and open the door
The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly.

pad

Dacor CPO230, can't get lock to engage for self cleaning. I follow step clean symbolcomes up door lock moves into locked position then beeping starts and the word door flashes and the lock opens up.

For some reason the oven thinks you have a door that is not shut all of the way. Check the locking slot to make sure that there are no obstructions. Make sure that you are only doing one oven at a time, and not trying to cook in the other. Make sure you have no racks in the oven. Try pushing lightly on the door when the lock engages. For some reason your lock isn't engaging fully and that's why door is flashing. Good Luck
Below is from the owners manual for your oven.

Oven does not self-clean Door not shut tight Check for obstructions. Close door tightly
Oven set for delay timed cleaning Oven will start to self-clean at preset time.
Press CANCEL/SECURE to return to

delayed clean cycle.

frame, door
frame (area
outside of gasket)
and
around the
opening in the door gasket with a nonabrasive
cleaner such as Bon Ami*. These

manufacturers.
TO SET FOR IMMEDIATE START:
1. Press Clean pad once.
2. Press the Auto Set pad for 3 hours of
cleaning time, press again for 4 hours
and again if 2 hours of clean time are
desired.
3. CLEANING and LOC plus the clean
time will appear in the display.
4. When the clean cycle is complete,
CLEANED will be displayed. LOC will
remain on until the oven has cooled
(approx. 1 hour).
5. When the oven is cool, LOC will no
longer be displayed and the door may be
opened.
6. Wipe out the oven interior with a damp
cloth. If soil remains it indicates the
cycle was not long enough.
