Solution:
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit inlcludes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself. Its an easy fix.
If looking at tv it is off to the right about an inch

If you have the ORIGINAL remote, you can access the built-in diagnostic computer ( in SONY models ). Download the diagnostic manual from SONY, and it will tell you how to use the remote manually to adjust ANY of the IC units, and much more! It is not easy, but it can be done, and the manual covers MANY settings.But you MUST have the ORIGINAL FACTORY REMOTE, universal remotes WILL NOT WORK. Good luck, hope this helps.

Replace the convergence ICs post your model and I will post a link where you can get the parts and they include step by step instructions with pictures so you can do the repair yourself takes an hour and will save you about a 400 dollar repair bill.
Solution #1Stk392-110 red convergence IC is bad...normal procedure===
1) pull chassis 2) replace both Stk's for reliable repair
3)re-assemble 4) re-align convergence

Automatic convergence tool in Menu will not autofocus/autoalign it, and it appears as a red double picture approximately 2.5 inches off horizontally to the right. Is this something I can adjust manually, or do I need to replace this Convergence ICs you spoke of?
I, too have a Sony rear projection (Model# KP-46WT510, July 2003) that the red convergence is off to the right (happened today, just flickered and the red went to the right) When I try to realign the red it will only move up and down and not left or right. need manual and parts list.
