Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio
Books, etc. from MP3 Player/Ipod
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal
Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on
"Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you
do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release,
right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

How do I delete 30mbs from my sansa clip the message is: not enough space for music DB. Please free 30mbs

Hello,

The player needs free memory to build its database for playlists to playback.

To free memory on your player:
1. Connect to a computer
2. Save a backup of (preferred all) songs to a location on the computer
3. Delete some files off the player to free at least 30 MB memory in the Sansa Clip

Use the manual for how to connect and delete music files.

My Sansa Clip won't work. When I turn it on it says: Not enough space for music DB Please free 30 MB. But when i connect it to my computer it doesn't register. PLEASE HELP ME

Because you drag 7 drop songs or files too much into the sansa clip in MSC mode, it causes like that.
Turn it on, it will show " Not enough.....free 30 MB", and then automatically turn off. Plug it into pc, open my computer, it will be under name "Sansa clip..." or "removable disk ". If your pc does not recognize it, unplug again and replug it.
Open Sansa Clip..., or removable disk, and delete some songs.
Good luck

It keeps saying not enough space for music DB please free 90 MB when i turn it on

Remove the microSD card, then connect the Sansa to your computer. Delete one or more files (music, photos, videos) until you free up the required amount of memory.

My sansa clip has maxed out space and won't turn on

Hello,

Sandisk has an Answers support site for the Sandisk players.
Searching for answers on the item space, links to next page:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/list/kw/space/r_id/101834/search

The first answer on not enough space for musicDB will give 2 options for deleting files, see next page:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/848

Option 1 for normally erasing files.
Deleting selected files:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/41

Method 1: deleting files on the player itself .

Method 2: deleting files when connected to a computer
when using method 2, switching USB mode from MTP to MSC or vice versa may be needed to see the files in the folders.
Information about the problem "hidden files", see:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/447
How to change the USB mode of the player, see:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/207

Option 2, erasing all files on purpose or when memory is corrupted .
Formatting the device, deleting all files:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/107

This help page shows how to perform a format of the player using
disk management. The player has to be in MSC mode when performing
this action.
How to switch to MSC mode is mentioned before, see link:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/207

The player tells me there's not enough free space for music DB and I need to free 30 mb. At that time the player was empty. I've erased the disc and it still gives me the same message. What's the deal.

try formatting the disk and then if that doesnt work run a scandisk check on it.if even that doesnt work, use sansa updater that may have come in the CD provided alongwith the player.

"Not enough space for music DB. Please free up 30 MB"

The mp3 manufacturers are often being disingenuous - they plug an mp3 player into a Macintosh, and it shows up, so they say, "Hey! It's Mac-compatilbe!" But, the software is certainly not Mac-compatible, so if you ever experience a problem, there is no way to fix it. Also, the Sansa e200 series does not recognize iTunes format.

In general, I would agree that you need to reformat your player, but I have no idea how to do that on a Mac (I'm good at a lot of things, but I'm Mac-illiterate).
