Hi, you have to "Update Drivers" the system is like new so there are "Hardware and Software" items that have to be updated, and or "reinstalled." This what you need to do; click on the "start button," scroll to find "Windows Updates," open it and have it "scan" for updates. I will tell you now this may take a while, so you have to be very patient with the process. You will have alot of "stuff" that will need to be updated. Now! There is a more direct approach that you can take to focus on just the areas of immediate concern. "Internet Connection and Sound. First, for the "Sound," open the "Start Menu" select the Control Panel, in the next window, click on the "Hardware and Sound" category. Next select "Manage audio devices." In the "General" area, click on the Speaker Icon, when the "Properties" highlighted, click on it to open, click on the "Driver Button." Next, click on the "Update Driver" button. Note: Click on "Apply, OK, and Save ("if present?; this will make sure the application is completed correctly"). Go back to the "Control Panel" and choose the "Internet status and tasks," the wording made differ from systems being used, open the window, in the (left) Tasks area, choose "Diagnose and Repair" first! If all goes well, Great! If Not? Go back to the Control Panel and apply the different "Tasks," Note: "Always restart the computer after making changes to the computer so that the changes can take effect properly. "Rating the solution will let me know if it helped or you may need further assistance, thank you."

After formatting i booted winxp2011 for nec versa 2000 but couldnot get sound system can u help me solve this problem i dont have original motherboard

Right click my computer and go to manage. Click device manager and see if there is any yellow question marks. IF there is any, you need to install the drivers for them. You can go the manufacturers site for the drivers. Thanks.

I need to know your motherboard's model (if there are seperate cards for audio, lan I need their models too) and the operating system you installed.

Waiting clarification, don't hesitate to post.

I dont have sound in my IBM laptop

Have you reloaded the motherboard drivers for audio after formatting? If not connect to the net, visit the manufacturers web-site and download the latest sound driver for your model after having selected the OS you are using. The sound is integrated sound built in the Motherboard, hence without the correct driver it will not work..........sodeep

I formated my  system and is not have a sound

Try this:-
First Make sure your PC has access to the internet

Click "Start" --> "Control Panel"
Double click on "System" --> "Hardware" --> "Device Manager"
Search for your "Sound Card" under "Sound, Video and Game Controllers"
If there is a problem you will see an exclamation mark over the top of the symbol
Right Click and Select "Update Driver"
If you have the correct sound driver disk or driver disk that came with the pc
insert this now and select "no not this time"
then "install driver automatically"
Alternatively
Select "Yes this time only" to allow windows to search the internet
If the driver is found windows will install it and may ask for a restart

If the updated driver is not found, follow the above instructions but do not select "Update Driver" select "Properties"
and under the "General" tab your sound device and manufacturer is displayed

Search the internet for the required drivers
