The spout, itself is hinged. It has two positions, an upper and a lower position. (Similar to a light switch). Make sure it is in it's lowest position when making juice, otherwise the liquid will collect in the inner bowl and leak out the sides of the juicer. Move the spout to the upper position to temporarily stop the flow of juice, such as when you change glasses or receptacles. Then, put the spout in the lower position to resume the flow of juice.
Check to make sure machine, including pulp collector is properly assembled; check silver bar is in upright position; check that spout is in downward position; preset reset switch located on underside of the main base.

Most juicers have a retention rod or side snaps that hold the top of the juicer in place. By loosening these, it will allow you to get underneath the juicer cap top. Once you have done this, you will have to remove the juice/ pulp wheel blade. Your juicer should have come with a two pin tool that facilitates this. Use the tool to loosen the juice /pulp wheel blade. Once you have done this, you should be able to remove the outer juice capture rim with that has the spout on one end. I hope this helps. Good luck and happy juicing.
