I recently lost my memory card to my camera, and bought another card to replace it. It's a PNY SD HC card, and whenever I put it in and turn the camera on, Nothing shows up on the screen. It won't take pictures, or anything. What should I do?

I own a Nikon D5000, that has a 'pqi 4GB SD HC' memory card inside.Within this camera is also something called movie mode, in other words I can record short movies. Now here is the problem, Nikon says how much I can record on the memory card, depends on the speed the memory card records. According th them, I can only record 5 minutes on a 2GB memory card. Does that sound right to you. P-l-e-a-s-e I need help in understanding this.
If this is true,......what side memory card (HD if possible) would I need to record 30 minutes in the movie mode. Thank you so much for your help.
Youll have to get updates for your laptop card reader or get a new one which may have to be installed. Another method you may want to try would be to put the card back into the device you used it in and then hook the device up to the computer, most likely through the USB slot....good luck
I have the same camera and bought a 4GB PNY SD card and it wouldn't work, so I read the manual :) The manual says, "SD Memory Cards having the following storage capacity can be used on your camera (Toshiba PDR-3330):
8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, and 256MB"
Hope this helps! -Kim
pny does not supply card readers w/memory cards-sandisk on certain cards includes reader because file format is different on sdhc cards -try downloading direct from camera w/usb or get a card reader that absolutley supports sdhc type cards-not all readers do!
