Error: HP Wireless Assistant not supported on this machine??? Can't connect to internet? Wireless router is on. I have unplugged everything and nothing seems to remove that error and I can't get on line?

You can set up your wireless router using one of two methods:

• Manual Setup: If you cannot or prefer not to use the Smart Wizard Installation Assistant, see "Manually Installing Your Router" on page 13. For example, if you are connecting to a Mac, are using a Linux operating system, or are technically knowledgeable, select this option. to restart your HP Assistant you must first sure that you have install it in your system then go to control panel then open HP Wireless Assistant then check the properties then modify it. Then press the button with an antenna with a wave at the top to enable your wireless connection. Make sure that you enable your wireless connection for you to have HP Wireless Assistant.

Go to the router configuration and change the options so you could use both of them, there is an option says only one type of connection or both of them, change it to both, and everything will be fine.

Unplug the router for ten seconds and plug it back in, it needs to reset. Some routers have a reset button. I often wait longer than ten seconds, I find a beer is usually the right amount of time. Sometimes the modem needs a reset also; unplug everything, then plug back in sequence, with the modem first, the wait, then the router, wait, then turn on your computer. That system works for any brand modem and router.

It seems like your router is configured once without any issues. Ignore that error message if you are connected with the internet. The setup couldnt find the Network adapter or the router because it is know more a factory default settings. It is been configured already
