Installed new hard drive. Re-installed Windows xp. Accidently entered wrong product key code. Even with key finder will not let me enter correct one. Microsoft will not recognize as Genuine. Cannot get updates so I can upgrade. I've tried getting help from Microsoft ibm etc. To no avail.
XP is dead now and a virus magnet.
if you freshload XP (from unstated disks)
and coa key is no good, or wrong for the disk
it will fail endlessly.
and if so?, you get to buy a new key. and MS does not sell them. now.
http://pcdied.com/XP-sux-sg.html
buy w7 , load that, end story.
microsoft no longer fields calls on COA issues.
that ends this product XP dead.
unless you can find a unused disk sold say on fleabay.
activation still works, at MS.
but only with valid COA key
if no key , valid you get to buy a 2nd or 3rd, or?

SOURCE: I re-installed XP T43 laptop and my wireless does not work
First thing is to check if the wireless device is working. Go to Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager. Click on Network Adapters. Do you see the the Wireless card?
If not in Control Panel click on Network Connections, do you see a Wireless Connection? If not you need to install the correct wireless network driver, Check the IBM site again, there should be another wireless driver (there are a couple of different wireless card installed on T40 series ThinkPads).
THEN
If you succeed in installing the wireless driver and it is enabled.
Then click Control Panel - click on Network Connections - right click on the Wireless Networl Connection - Click on Properties and check if TCP/IP has been installed, if not install it. Check TCP/IP properties - make sure it is set to Obtain an address automatically and Obtain DNS Server address automatically.
Check the wireless settings on your other laptops, use this information to configure the wireless on the T43, ie the SSID, WEP or WAP settings
You should be able to connect to your wireless router and Internet now - let me know how it goes,

I know that you cannot get the thinkpad on the internet, but you can download the drivers from this link from the computer you are using for FixYa. Download them to a flash drive, and load them from there to the thinkpad.

SOURCE: Need Office 2007 Product key... PLEASE HELP!!!
The Version that comes with the unit is a trial version. You have to purchase a full version of 2007.
But why pay for Microsoft when you can download OpenOffice, which is free and fully compatible with MS Office:
Download it from here:
