Sorry, but this device is not a DVD-writer.

This device _should_ read (non-blank) DVD media.
If it does not, then the cheapest solution is to spend $40
to buy a new CD/DVD reader/writer.

please clean the dvd or cd lenss then try

its ether youre laser dirty or broken try running a dvd lens cleaning disc in it

First clean the CD/DVD head by cd/dvd cleaner. If that doesnt work then probably you will need to get its read write head aligned or get the drive changed totally.

Laser assembly losing ability to focus on surface of disk. Unit is old and not cost effective to repair. Go shopping.

After variety of different tests and findings I have resolved this issue. It appears that the DVD burner was not in good working order and the DVD player was not at fault. Thanks you to all who answered and responded to my problem. Many thanks.

u try using 80 conducter cable,if u using 40 conducter cable ,

ITs a dvd rom drive. It will not burn blank dvds
in order to burn, it has to cd-r/cd-rw/dvd-r/dvd-rw. If a drive cannot write to a blank disc, it will eject it. Rom drives read only (Read Only Memory), Combo drives- burn cd's only read dvd's, and super drives both read and write to cds and dvds.
