I loaded flight simulator 2004 on my new computer with windows 8.1. It loaded fine. After when I clicked on the flight simulator icon, the program will not run.

if you ck the box the game came in you will see that its only 4 win2k and maybe win-xp depending on the time you bought it , it wont run in a windows version that was created long after it was written , now that being said , win 2kpro version does have a backwards compatibility version , but then the other newer software you have loaded will not run stable and is prone to crash"s (blue screen of death)

a possible solution to your problem is something like I've done ,I've taken a old laptop with win xp running on it ,and islanded it (never connects to internet or network) so that m-soft cant ever shut it off this one I load all my great ole games to it (flight sim, trainz ,etc.) and it works just fine

You may be able to do it with a virtual machine setup if windows 8 does not like the game program.
depends on the program and how compatible it is as to if it will run and also direct x may cause you grief also.
If it worked in a dos type enviroment a dos emulator may work but I am unsure it really if trial and error testing to see if it will work.

In FS X. Aircraft have most of it missing from display. No wings, no undercarage. etc. Have higher that min system and XP SP3.

Try reinstalling the game. It can be very graphics heavy though, so you may have to lower your settings to the minimum. You could also go to Microsoft's website and check for updates.

I have 64 bit system. is ms flight simulator 2002 compatible with that?

MS Flight Simulator 2002 should be compatible with your 64 bit operating system.
It should, SHOULD, normally install.
If you have troubles running the program, I suggest right clicking on the shortcut and run it in XP SP2 compatibility mode. But, you shouldn't have to do that.

Joystick will not work with Combat Flight Simulator WWII Europe

Some joysticks are not compatible with certan games for expmple when i am using flight simulator and change to my combat flight simulator i have to change joysticks
the only other thing i would think is try deleting the currently installed driver for the joystick and then download a driver for a joystick that is surported, it wont work as well but at least it might accully work

When I bank right or left with joystick the screen Freezes

To check the joystick isn't the problem, go into control panel game controls, then check that the joystick appears and you can move the cross-hair around on screen, most modern joysticks are
auto-calibrating, but you could try running the calibration.

To check the game isn't a problem, unplug the joystick, then use the arrow keys to fly the plane, if it doesn't crash when you bank then it isn't the game.

I assume the game is Combat Flight Simulator 3, as very old games that were written for Windows 95,98,ME series often won't run on Windows NT,2000,XP,Vista as they are completely different versions of Windows. If this is actually Flight Simulator 3, you may need to consider buying a later version of Flight Simulator (FSX is the latest version, but may not run on your laptop).

Other things to try are updating the graphics card driver.

Norton shouldn't need deactivating, although it could cause problems if you're playing online.

Also remember that laptop graphics cards are never as powerful as desktop graphics, and games very rarely specifically support laptop graphics.

Hope this helps.

System ''Lock up" when running FSX Pro

you can try alt + tab. or do alt + ctrl + del win the game DOES run fine. windows task manager will pop up and it will push flight simulator in the taskbar.
if it still crash, check your patch on the game. maybe it has a "minimise-lock". which means: it cant minimise cause the producer doesnt want too (but i cant see why he care ^^)

hope i helped you

kilbeam99

PS. just curious: why do you want to minimise?
