My Advise is to REWIRE all SPEAKERS SEPERATLY & INDEPENDENT From Factory Wiring, as it is Safer to do this than to INCORPERATE Your Sterio Wiring into the Original Wiring, Some Vehicles Use Spicific Wiring to OTHER Components. I'm Sure this is NOT the Answer you WANT But I have Installed more than I can Countof Stereo Systems into Cars/Trucks ,Tractor trailers and Inicialy I Only Ran Into PROBLEMS When Incorperating into Factory Wiring Thus I Refined MY METHOD By Simply Wiring all EXEPT the BATTERY & IGNITION < Key ON Wires. ONE SLIP In INCORPERATING INTO FACTORY WIRING Can CAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEMS/DAMAGE the ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I Realize that in MANY Vehicles this CAN and HAS Been DONE But at the Same time When you ISOLATE the NEW STEREO WIRING You KNOW EXACTLY what you Have. As Far as Color Codes they CAN and DO VARY from Year to Year and Makes Also. What I am Recomending May be SLIGHTLY more Expensive and Require Some Time BUT the End Result will be Well Worth it. Thank you for your time !

Hi, please check to see if your colors match the ones below. If yes, then connect them to the aftermarket colors shown next. Assuming your factory installation has only four speakers, there should not be a lot of wires left over.

I think you could use this manual method
instead.. My nephew who is a full time mechanic uses most of the times, and all mechanics look up to manuals. It's very easy he gets it from. www.reliable-store.com

NEED STEREO WIRE COLORS FOR 1988 BMW 735I

red = constant live 12v
brown = negative ground
violet = ignition live 12v
white = electric antenna (rear screen)
the speakers will be twisted pairs, i can not remember which is left and right but the grey stipe and brown strip are negative the others are positive.

If in doubt get a pro to install for you as you could cause damage if you connect wrongly.

02 5 series bmw stereo

Hello rbs845,

Most vehicle audio integrated phones use a ground on a specific wire from the receiver to activate the "mute" function. If the wire contacts other wires or shorts to ground, it can cause the receiver to signal an incoming call or mute. Without the exact make and model of the receiver, it's not possible to point you to a specific wire color to look for. I'd make sure that ALL wires that are not used are securely insulated and kept from touching other wires or metal behind the dash.

Hope this helps.

Need code for bmw radio F4051747313 dealer wants $62.50. Thats rediculous, can someone help me out?

Only a BMW dealer can look up the code. Of course, charging you for this is ridiculous. It takes a few seconds and costs the dealer nothing. I would try another dealer.

I a '83 camry, there are 2 seperate plugs that go into a factory radio.
One for Power/and front speakers, and the other for rear speakers.

Sounds as if you are missing part of the harness for the rear speakers (or it is shoved in the back of the dash unused by the previous install). If there is not an un-cut plug in the dash - your only course of action would be to run your own set of speaker wire to the rear.

See this picture... these are the plugs that should go into your factory radio....

Metra kit 71-1938 will go from your factory wiring directly into your factory radio.
