I am having the same issue! I bought 2 for each of my daughters. They both sync'd them to their computer through windows media; they both added songs the exact same way and only one of them actually PLAYS the songs. The other one says the songs are there; I can even see the file through the folders menu setting but when I select it they don't play???? If you or anyone happens to figure out why please let me know! Right now I am resorting to going through EVERY FILE and moving the songs to the main page and not under the Music Folder like it is on the other one!!

before i can say i need to know where you have gotten the songs from and exactly how you have been putting them on your player then i might be able to help! :)

Hello May, Check the players settings for demo mode and set to normal or full play.

my last MP3 did that...its like a demo mode...sorta it gives you a taste of all the songs that are there...so you know what you have on ur mp3 maybe ur situation is different...i dont know...but thats all i could think of

For Windows XPTM users, you are connecting the device in MTP mode to the computer by default. You will need to set the device to MSC mode, so go to the device menu\Settings\Advanced\Protocol = > Press Play/Pause key to select MSC mode which will appear as such on the screen. Reconnect the device to the computer, and you can now see those files and delete them.
DO NOT forget to set the device back to MTP mode when finished, so go to device menu\Setting\Advanced = > Select MTP mode.

Are they .mp3's or .wma's? I haven't gotten .wma's to play, but .mp3's work fine.

You may also want to try creating a folder in the player that contains your music. Shouldn't matter, I know, but you know what that's worth.

The demo songs still don't show up when I select "Show hidden files/folders". I had go to Menu->Settings->Format, and proceed with formatting it to get the demo songs off my Sansa c240 (This will delete all songs/files).
