We have Onga SMH55. Our in ground tank is below pump level. Pump is fully primed and gives presssure to garden tap but no pressure to house taps.

if the pump is delivering to the hose tap then it is working
there has to be a problem in the plumbing and control arrangement to the house taps for there to be no pressure at the house
possible tap turned off to the house circuit
Is the pump big enough to supply constant pressure /flow to more than one tap
what sort of pressure control unit is there on the pump
what distances and head heights are involved from the water level in the tank to the house taps
Is there water flow from the house taps but not at pressure
the pump should be able to maintain at least 35psi with at least 4 taps running

Big rainwater tank ran dry and so electric Onga pump that normally pumps water from big tank to little overhead tank kept failing. Have since refilled big rainwater tank, but pump keeps failing. Have

Release AIR lock. Air has got trapped in the pump hence it cannot create necessary level of suction. The way normally you do this by filling the water path of the pump with water and get the air released.

How to prime a jsp100 onga pump

Check if there is a plug that can be removed to pour in water, if not the outlet pipe may have to be removed to prime with water, hope the non return valve in the tank has not picked up any rubbish . if it can't be primed that could be the case.

Onga js120. Wont hold pressure

I assume the pump runs when switched on until a preset pressure is reached in the outlet when it cuts off, remaining on standby until the pressure falls due to a demand for water when it automatically restarts.

To achieve that automatic function there must be a pressure switch in the outlet side of the pump and that or the associated circuitry is where the fault must be as the pump seems to run ok when reset is pressed.
If it is modern it is likely electronics are involved and it would seem more likely those are at fault than a faulty pressure switch which could be expected to remain faulty all the time.

Another possibility is the motor is overheating due to a fault or due to the duty cycle being exceeded and the safety cut-out must be manually reset.

Our house is on well water. For several months now, the water, whether hot or cold, will suddenly stop flowing if there is more-than-average demand, such as a bath, washing clothes, or leaving the hose on....

Hi,
Chances are that the problem is not in your well pump.
He is what you need to do.
Turn the power off to your well pump.
Drain all of the pressure (water) from your system.
Find the pressure switch by your tank that turns the well pump on and off. Usually it is on the tank tee right where the pipe comes out of your tank.
Unhook the wires from the presure switch, taking time to label them so you know exactly where to put them back again.
carefully turn the pressure switch off of the pipe nipple.
Turn the pipe nipple out of the tee.
Clean all of the crude out of the bottom of the pressure switch and the nipple.
This crude is what is causing the delayed reaction in the pump.
Reassemble everything as it was and repower the pump.
You should be good to go now.
If not, then turn off the power again.
Turn the nut on the tallest center screw of the pressure switch down about 1 turn. This will make the pump kick on slitghly sooner, but only do this after checking for **** in the pipe nipple.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!
