Battery Hi, my name is Elma, can you please tell me where to send my venturer pvs 1262 dvd player to get fixed? The battery is DEAD. It won't charge or anything. I just bought a new one, but this one is special, because I got it as a present from a loved one who past away recently. Thank You for any help you can provide.

The only "kill switch" I am aware of is the switch on the DVD compartment door. I don't have your exact model but, on my model, this switch is activated when the door covering the DVD is closed and deactivated when this door is opened (kills the DVD spin and reading laser). Look for a small square hole in the DVD player deck and a corresponding raised piece of plastic on the DVD door.
It exists, my brother has that one--I'm looking to buy the same one! Where did you buy yours so recently?? We don't charge his, just plug it into car cig.lighter.
Navigate manu to select Region Code and select Region 9
Press Enter Press Menu to Exit
Confirm Region change by pressing ANGLE then DISPLAY (still with tray open) and you will see a long string of letters and numbers ending with R9. (if successful).
Power off.
The "venturer" pvs 1371 is marketed under several brand names in different chain stores, not surprising that it was hard to find, it is also 'durabrand' 'pacific' 'Lennox' 'Alco' 'funai' 'Emerson' 'Sylvania' 'Symphonic' 'Orion' 'Maxell' 'Resonance' 'Initial technologies' in various incarnations, and not all the manufactuer's rebranded items are available in each brand, and not all of each brand are from the same manufacturer
i had the same problem with my dvd player and there is a small button near the latch that holds the door down if you find a way to get that down further that might fix your problem it did for mine
a new battery sounds like the solution.
