Runs but blows warm air ran for 1 year unplugged for 2 months plugged in ran warm grill was dirty now cleaned still runs warm

Without a compressor analizer you will need to check the winding
resistance. or you can just cross your fingers and hope the relay
and start capacitor are the problem. Sounds like the condenser coil was plugged so you could possibly have a locked up compresor.I doubt it is low on refrigerant charge.

Upright Freezer won't Cool

Hi - Typically freezers are not recommended to be located outside because if the garage temperature is above 100 degrees, it will have difficulties performing optimally due to un-circulating air. Some manufacturers have garage kit design to help with this issue. It is design to solely be used during the winter to provide heat to the coils which trigger the compressor to come on. During the summer months, generally it is not needed.

When was the last time you cleaned the condensers? You may do so by removing the toe grille and use extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush to remove dust buildup from condenser coils usually located on the left side underneath. If you hear the compressor running and if it is providing warm air then that means it is operating correctly and the sealed system is removing heat from the cabinet. Fan motor/evaporator may be the primary issue. However, if you do not hear the compressor and the unit is blowing room temperature then the unit may possibly have a sealed system leak, faulty compressor or overload relay. Contact a professional to move forward accurately from this point.

Frigidaire freezer 253.28452801 is running all the time
clean out grills under unit or in back of it . they sell a brush at any hardware store , when the grill gets dirty or clogged it cant breath. it over heats and stays running . also check the door seal .it has to seat for cold air to stay in if it doesnt seat take a blow dryer heat it up a little and readjust it so it does.

Kenmore frostless freezer, Model 253-9280413. Food is properly frozen but both outside walls and the top are extremely hot to the touch, particularly the wall to the left of the door which is so hot you...
If your condenser grill is extremely dirty or air flow is not adequeate there will be heat transferance to the cabinet itself.

Highly recommend that you clean your condenser grill (the grill underneath the cabinet) and vacuum as much as you can then blow it out with an air compressor.

This is a second hand freezer purchase. When starting it for the first time, it cooled rather quickly inside but the sides and top became very hot to touch and we unplugged it. Is this a dangerous problem?...
Usually the frame getting hot is a sign that either the condenser grill is dirty or blocked or not getting enough air flow around it; or the condenser fan is not working or maybe even the compressor being low on freon.

I would suggest you start with a thorough cleaning, then check the fan and make sure it is working.

Since you said it cooled down quickly, I wouldn't think it was the compressor freon level. More likely dirty condenser grill or where you put it. I have might on 4" x 4" to get it off the ground for better air flow and ease of cleaning. It must work because I have had it since 1983 and never had to do more than clean the grill on it.

Condenser runs continuousley and is very hot
Don't know what kinda freezer this is? Commercial? Look for dirty condenser coils/ fins. Be sure air can circulate around condenser. Possibly low on refrigerant (freon). Need more info for more detail solutions.

try to vacum the coils on back, if thats the problem u will feel them get a little warm if this doesnt work try to tap the relay next to your compressor, i had this same problem

Running continuously

You said, you have a FFU20FC6AW2 freezer that I have noticed is running continuously. Explains my $400 electric bill.


How old is the freezer?

The thermostat may be faulty.
But check out this list first.

If the black tubes running back and forth that carry the freon is under the freezer and behind the plastic grill down near the floor you may want to remove the grill cover and gently run a refrigerator brush across the coils. Ive seen them never cleaned and full of lint and dust 2 inches thick.
This is not good for the freezer or any refrigerator too!
They need to be clean so air can run across them or they over heat and get hot.
Room or outside weather is hot. It is normal for the freezer to work harder under these
conditions.

Reasons why Freezer may run too much or too long.
1.Freezer had recently been disconnected for a period of time. Freezer requires 4 hours to cool
down completely.
2.Large amounts of warm or hot food have been stored recently. Warm food will cause the
freezer to run more until the desired temperature is reached.
3.Door is kept open too long or too frequently. Warm air enters the freezer every time the door
is opened. Open the door less often.

4.Freezer door may be slightly open. (Freezer is not level. It rocks on the floor when it is moved slightly. This condition can force the cabinet out of square and misaligned the door.Freezer needs to be leveled if this occurs.
Floor is uneven or weak. Freezer rocks on the floor when it is moved slightly. Level the floor by using metal or wood shims under the freezer or brace floor supporting the freezer.

5.Temperature control is set too cold. Turn the control knob to a warmer setting. Allow several
hours for the temperature to stabilize.
6.Freezer gasket is dirty, worn, cracked, or poorly fitted. Clean or change gasket. Leaks in the
door seal will cause freezer to run longer in order to maintain desired temperature.

check the condenser coil it maybe plugged up use a hand brush to clean out coils and if you can use a air compressor to blow out coils this is the best way and this coil is used to remove heat from the system if it looks clean you can shine a flash light on the opposite side to see the light though the coils to check deep inside other then that the water vale may have a slight leak allowing warm water to seep though prolonging the freeze time or  you may have a compressor with weak valves or low ref. start with the maintenance thats the first thing people usually over look the dirty coil that you should clean once to twice a year that can over heat the compressor and cause it go out.
