What is free parking

Free Parking or Free Barking as it is in this game means that all money required to be paid other than rent and purchase price of dogs is placed in the center of the board and the player landing on FREE BARKING collects all the money in the center of the board at that time.

You can get a copy of the rules for the game from here;

Why can the computer players buy properties that they have not landed on in monopoly on the iphone? This is not a rule ive come across before and is getting a little frustrating lol.

Monopoly today is played with a variation of rules. Some people collect money when they land on free parking, and some choose to leave properties unsold if the original buyer chooses not to purchase the property. Official rules state that "If you do not wish to buy the property, the Banker sells it at auction to the highest bidder." These rules and others may be changed by going to Play Game > New and then selecting the Preferences button at the bottom left under the "AI Difficulty Level" selection. From here, you can turn off auctions and other rules to tweak the game to your own style.

For the official Monopoly rules manual, visit Hasboro website at http://www.hasbro.com/common/instruct/monins.pdf:

BUYING PROPERTY... Whenever you land on an unowned property
you may buy that property from the Bank at its printed price. You
receive the Title Deed card showing ownership; place it face up in
front of you.
If you do not wish to buy the property, the Banker sells it at auction
to the highest bidder. The buyer pays the Bank the amount of the bid
in cash and receives the Title Deed card for that property. Any player,
including the one who declined the option to buy it at the printed
price, may bid. Bidding may start at any price.

What are the official rules concerning the banker for the board game Monopoly

Besides the Bank's money, the Bank holds the Title Deeds, and the houses and hotels prior to purchase by the players. The Bank pays salaries and bonuses. It sells and auctions properties and hands out the proper Title Deed cards when purchased by a player, it also sells houses and hotels to the players and loans money when required on mortgages.
The Bank collects all taxes, fines, loans and interest, and the price of all properties which it sells and auctions. The Bank "never goes broke." If the Bank runs out of money, the Banker may issue as much as needed by writing on any ordinary paper.

That should be all you need to know about the "banker". Now as everyone knows there are many variations called "house" rules as long as they are agreed upon by all players before the game.
Thank you,
lee
