Question about HP StorageWorks Ultrium 920 LTO-3 Tape Drive

Ultrium 920 sas install problem

Hi i tried to install this device ( ultrium 920 sas) with the original hp cd i downloaded drivers from hp but windows ( win 2k3 r2 server) do not want to recognize the device... Any idee? thx gedeon

Try to reseat the controller from the PCI slot.
Reseat the SAS cable.

This problem is *NOT* related to the 'HP VS17' monitor.

Instead, find the "original" Windows CD-ROM that came with your computer, and reinstall Windows from that media, rather than reinstalling from some other copy of Windows.

The "original" CD-ROM will have the correct audio-device drivers.

If you need, contact the manufacturer of your computer, and order a replacement "System Recovery" set of CD-ROM disks.

Or, find the web-site for the manufacturer of your computer, and enter your series (e.g., "Optiplex" or "Dimension") and model-number, and search for downloadable device-drivers for your "audio" device.

I have to admit this is a tough one. You seem to have tried most things i would try 1st.

I would suggest trying to download an eval coy of another backup program such as backup exec 12.5 from the symantec website and trying that.

This enables you to eliminate the backup software from your enquiries and if you also enable BUEX to use its own drivers (rather than the standard windows drivers) then that is another thing eliminated.

http://www.trilan-it.com/ are pretty good near the Berkshire area if you need a field call to help sort the issue but i would try BUEX 1st as that will help diagnose the problem even if you dont wish to continue with their software

if you "have not" using Backup Software (e.g. Symantec Backup Exec, CA), you can try this IBM LTO-4 driver for Win2K.
