I see what you see also in the manual. The difference is the Heat Strip package that part is optional and the 600212-001 with the optional heat strips becomes the new 600315-001 I talked to Dometic Duo-Therm and the models are the same but they both are not heat pumps but the new heat strip package comes on when told to go into heat mode when you change the thermostat to heat. The part you purchased will fit both model numbers you listed for your roof top air conditioner. Thanks, Sea Breeze

The models are close to the same yours being a 600215-001 is just AC without the heat pump. When you add the heat strip package it give you 5600 watts of heat through the blower and the AC will not come on in heat mode, just fan and heat strips. Is it common for a rv rooftop air conditioner to leak water on to the roof? I have a Dometic Duo-Therm unit 579,590,595 series.

All AC units create condensation from the cooling of air (cold/cool air hold less water than warm air), it is worse in areas of humid air like the Midwest for example.

Can I recharge a Duo Therm 600315.001 RV Roof mounted air conditioner? It uses R22 refrigerant. If not, where can I find a replacement or can it be serviced somewhere?

I would suggest that you visit an ac specialist shop as all air conditioners( car, truck , house and yours all use the same principle of operation
because it is roof mounted in an RV may be a caravan repair shop that has an ac specialist in the workshop or a truck service shop that installs ac units in truck cabins would be a good place to start

I HAVE DOMETIC DUO-THERM PENGUIN ROOF AIR CONDITIONING ON RV. THE UNIT WILL RUN WHEN PLUGGED INTO ELECTRICITY BUT WHEN GENERATOR POWERED THE AC UNIT KILLS THE GENERATOR ENGINE. WHAT COULD IT BE?

What size & type generator? On start up the AC unit can draw as much as 17-18 amps in some cases, and if your generator is not designed for a quick draw like that it will die.

I just need to find a supplier for a replacement compressor for the duo therm unit on my RV. Any ideas?

Not sure you can buy a compressor separate, but you can try any RV dealer. My guess is that a complete upper unit (roof) is going to be the way to go, and in the long run cheaper. By the time you pay parts and labor, you can get an entire upper unit, with warranty, and 1 hr max. to install it.

Can I put heat strip in my duo therm air condition unit I think it is ducked

Check your control box at ceiling assy., and see if you notice an extra plug in side or end, where the heat strip would connect first. If not, Write the model and serial number off the control box, as well as model number off the bottom of the upper unit (roof) which should be visible when ceiling assy, filter section is removed and call dometic customer service at 1-800-544-4881, and they will advise you as to proper control box required, and if anything else is required as well.

Duo Therm AC/Heating not working at all after tripped breaker.

I had to get on the roof of mine, remove the cover and manually spin the fan. Add a little oil to the shaft where it goes thru the bearing. All of this is done on the roof side. Mine required this procedure every spring. Duotherm realizes they had a problem and have since corrected it but they don't deal with all of their customers that had the original problem.
