Changed ink and now the printer wont print

My 5300 had run out of black ink and so i had not used it in a while. I bought a black ink cartridge and still the printer would not print...I then thought maybe the other colours had dried out, so i bought a colour cartridge. and it still is not printing

The old ink has probably dried, plugging the jets. Try going through the cleaning cycle (several times if necessary). If it begins to print at all then let the printer set overnight and try cleaning again.

Kodak 5300 printer: I just changed the black ink but it is printing as though there is no black ink. Ihave tries calabrating, cleaning, deep cleaning, etc. It says there is a full cartridge of ink.

From what i understand with the kyocera colour printers theres a menu option to print black as black opposed to a combination of the colours. I'm not too sure where it is, however it sounds like the kodak is very simular and is using the colours to create black instead of using the blank ink cartrage.

Not printing black

Hi

1. Make sure that you have removed the plastic cover from the cartridge nozzle .
2. check if your black ink cartridge is full - put the nuzzle on the tip of you finger if it leaves ink drop then it is full and should print ok , if it didn't leave ink on your finger then it is dry and you should buy new cartridge .

hope it helps

Giant blobs of ink on every photo...

If you aren't currently, use the cartridge that the printer's manual says is for photos. Photo paper requires a different kind of ink.

Kodak 5300 wont print right

Have you tried the printer set up menu?
Run the "clear nozzel" test.
Run the "test page" test.
If these tests fail to solve your issue, then it is probably the cartridges.
Hope this helps
