Have a Panasonic Projection TV PT-47wx51c. It is currently shutting it self off, then the red light in the front blinks and can not be turned back on until it is un-plugged. Just befor it shuts itself off ( approx 5 sec after turned on) It shows me the set-up screen for about 1 sec. Is this a common problem and can it be fixed. Thanks Scott

    It blinks 3 times then long pause and then 3 blinks, pause and so on.

Can you determine if the led blinks a certain amount of times then a slight pause before blinking again? Let me know as it may be blinking a diagnostic code.

    Your set is shutting down because of a convergence error. Change both convergence ICs and also check the resistors right next to them as 1 or 2 of these often go open when the ICs go out. Let me know if I can assist you further.

    you need new convergence ICs that what the error code 3 is . Also check the resistors next to the ICs for being open as well, change both ICs

OK< likely one of the new chips are bad or when soldered in you shorted pins at that time----3 blinks is short protection and you are going to find ONE of the light blue 2.2 ohm resistors is open (usually discolored in middle).

Having changed hundreds of chips in this model once in a while you get a new one that is bad---replace both again.

How did you get at them----remove the board or pull the light box?

Panasonic tv powerlight blinking,tv turning off and then back on, now it won't turn on at all, blinking green light goes red and it shuts off completely
My TV surname off after 5-15 minutes of use. The red light in the front blinks once every 3 seconds continuously. If I hold the power button down on the tv, it will turn on and do the same thing.

What are the error codes for a Panasonic PT-47WX 42 TV
Hi,
3 times LED blinks in Panasonic PT-47WX42 shows problem with convergence out chips failure as this tv has two big black ICs STK392-110 as convergence output, replace them to fix tv problem.
Click Part Store to see an image of required chip and price info.
Local tv tech is recommended if you have no experience of working in tv circuit boards.

The Power Light is Red
yeah, should stay red when unit is turned off, indicating there's power but it's doing nothing.

Per user manual:
Solid red - power off (standby mode)
blinking red - power off (now cooling)
blinking green - power on (preparing to light lamp)
solid green - power on

Power problem
How many blinks is it doing? It has a built in self diagnosis code that it will blink. Pause a second then blink again. Count the blinks then let me know.

The PT-53WX52
This looks like a problemcausing the shutdown circuit to trigger. The shutdown circuit prevents the TV from being further damaged by an overcurrent or overvoltage event. The overcurent event is caused by a component being over driven and thus it decreases in resistive value causing an increase in current, The over voltage event is caused by a component increasing in its resistive value either due to an open circuit or decrease in the component's conductive area. In any event the shutdown circuits senses these eventes and shuts the TV down to prevent futher damage.

I would suggest taking the set to your local TV repair shop.

Panasonic PT-51HX42F
Sometimes, in the Panasonic projection sets, one of the convergence IC's shorts out and draws so much current that one of the resistors next to it glows red hot. The computer senses the extra current and shuts the set back off. This is quite an easy problem to correct, but the set should be serviced by a qualified tech familiar with panasonic projection sets.

42LG6000 image problem (vertical lines and image distorted). Someone already had similar problem? My 42LG6000 TV is very bad equipment in terms of fiability. 6 years ago had a problem and I solved it replacing the two 100uf capacitor in the border in the middle of TV (driver of the T-CON). 2 years ago had another problem (sometimes turns off and not start up) and I solved it replacing all the capacitors in the power supply board that shows the top expanded (I replace 3 X 1500uF, 2 X 1000uF and 2 X 470uF. Now have another problem, the image have vertical lines that distorted the image. We can see the image but the vertical lines distorted the image (not a quality image).
