Left my upright freezer open a crack and now the

Left my upright freezer open a crack, something got stuck in the top. And now the top does not freeze only the bottom does.

Hi,

With the door left open moisture would get into the unit behind the walls and into the duct work. The only way to fix this right is to unload it and let it unthaw for a day or so open. Once it is all defrosted and restarted it should be fine again.

Upright freezer wasn't freezing things any longer. I found there was ice on the bottom and the back panel was cracked all the way along the bottom with ice in the crack. Can this be fixed by repairing...
You have to fix crack , as it will keep your compressor running the kill your compressor. You fix the leak at local repair shop

Upright Frigidaire Freezer, Model#: MFU14F3GW9 It's approximately a 7-9 year old upright freezer. I believe the door may have been left cracked for an extended period of time, but I'm not positive....
if the doors shut okay,and there is no frost,and it is maintaining a steady internal temp(-18C to -20C) why worry.......anything else is going to cost money.......

Self defrosting deep freeze not defrosting
The excess frost in those areas is probably caused by leaky door gasket seals. They should be tight enough to hold a dollar bill securely all the way around. A defrost problem would start on the coils behind the back cover inside the freezer and would also appear on the back wall before it did on the door edges.

Kenmore upright freezer
reason is that the evaporator is blocked with ice and hence no air circulation.
either
switch off for 24 hours with doors open
or
remove back panel inside freezer and melt ice off with a hairdryer

Not freezing equally
Look for frost build up on back wall at bottom the auto defrost may be out. Check if the evaporator fan is blowing. If not it's stuck by something or needs replaced. If not The sealed system may have a leak or restiction causing it to only work closest to the evaporator i.e. the lower shelf.
