How do i do a factory reset on my lexmark x5490

Forget your lexmark. Reason: Lexmark have very frequently many problems because industry programming all hardwares in printer for one use.After that you need Lexmark official service or buy new.

You can contact Lexmark Technical Support at 1-800-539-6275.
You may need the serial number of your printer.

your cartridge is not properley installed take them out make sure theres no paper in front of them then put back in then try.

Download the software driver from the web link below and install it and check

If the issue still persists get back to me with the Operating system

If it has been torn or has any signs of damage on it then it might not work by just putting it back.
The best might be to take it to Lexmark and see what they can do.

1. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer.
2. Hold down the Stop/Clear button.
3. While keeping the button pressed down, reconnect the power cable. A message on the LCD will display MEMORY CLEARING.
   Note: The Fax, Copy and Scan buttons will remain ON until the message disappears. Only the Fax button should be ON when the function is complete.
4. Select the personal settings you require as follows:
   
   LANGUAGE? Press the right arrow key to select the language you want to use, and then press Select.
   
   COUNTRY CODE: Press the right arrow key to select the country you will be using the printer in, and press Select.
   
   ENTER DATE: Using the date format dd/mm/yy (in the USA, mm/dd/yy), press Select.
   
   ENTER TIME: Using the format hh:mm, press Select.
   Select Format: Press the appropriate number to choose between 1=12hr, 2=24hr.

PERSONALIZE FAX: Press Select.
Enter Name: Type in the name and press Select.
Enter Fax Number: Type in the number of the phone line to which the printer will be connected, and then press Select.

well at last managed to retrieve the paper jam. I had to remove the paper feeder then using long thin tweezers, i was able to carefully encourage the paper to come out but you have to be really careful not to damage the rollers.

Can't understand why there isn't an easier way. ie have easy access to the back or lift something up to get into the feeder!!!! anyway thanks for the support and suggestions, will gladly reccommend you guys to friends and collegues!!
