Hello,

Please connect an external monitor, and turn on the power. If it is working, then it is video and LCD problem.

If not working on external monitro, try to remove the battery, then unplug AC adapter. Then press and hold power button for 30 seconds. After that, put battery back and re plug AC. Turn on the power. If still not working, and no display on screen, Then the motherboard need to replace.

Flashing Caps Lock for Dell 1420 and won't start.

A quick look on the Internet and the DELL support side indicates the flashing caps lock light is the result of a SDRAM memory fault. It flashes 10 times, after which all led lights above the keyboard go off. have you installed new memory lately? Maybe it cam loose. If not swapping out the memory may solve your problem.

Dell Inspiron 1520- Blank screen, Caps Lock flashes 45 times...

If it does not even post or show the DELL Logo then this may already be a hardware failure. The best thing to do is to contact Dell Tech Support. Specially if you still have warranty. It could already be a couple of things ranging from the memory to the motherboard itself.

Dell Lattitude C840 Laptop

The 3 LED's (Num Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock) are used by Dell to diagnose no-post issues such as yours. The only error code close to yours is [Num Lock ON, Caps Lock FLASHING, Scroll Lock ON]. This indicates a a memory error. Try reseating the memory modules. If you have 2 memory modules, insert one at a time to determine the faulty module.

Dell latitude D600 problem

The flashing caps lock is an indication of a failed POWER on Self-Test (POST)

Remove the HDD, Battery, AC adapter, RAM and Modem

Press and hold power button for 15 seconds

Connect AC, see if you get any beep codes. If you do, power off, disconnect power, insert RAM, connect AC and reboot. If system boots, power off and add hard drive. If it doesn't, replace the motherboard.

If the system boots with RAM, but fails to boot with HDD, replace HDD 1st.
