I have a fujifilm s1000fd, but have no disk for the software, to download pictures on to pc, can I find software? I have found updates, but not orginal software, without cd's.

Im using 8gb SDHC card (scandisc) camera keeps reporting read error or write error. won't download photos, locks up etc, etc. lost many holiday photos. It is only 6 weeks old.... should Ijust use 2 mb SD -...

If all other cards work fine then you may have a faulty memory card.

Your camera should theoretically be able to handle an 8GB SDHC card (but only up to 2GB xD card) as it is an SDHC compatible camera, but I've encountered more than a few cameras in the past which were SDHC compliant but could only handle up to 4GB.

Most of these had firmware updates to enable up to 16GB SDHC but the Fuji S1000fd has no firmware update.

If you find that the SDHC card is fine after all then I'd suggest contacting Fuji for a definite say so as to whether they know of any issues with 8GB SDHC compatibility.

Some SD/HC cards will cause this problem.
You need to upgrade the firmware to version 1,05.

Picts turn out black when taking outdoor shots with fuji s1000

You don't need the software, only the driver. The driver can be downloaded here:
http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/#usbDrivers

Your camera is PTP compatible. After installing the driver the camera will appear in My Computer and you can access the images from there.

Oh, I can see that they didn't update the drivers with Vista....

I can send you an email with the PTP driver if you tell me your email. For safety reasons, write @ as AT. The zipped file is 1,26MB
