GE side by side # PSCS 5RGX CFSS freezer shelf fall out
GE side by side # PSCS5RXGXCFSS freezer shelf is about a 1/4 inch too narrow and fall out. This is the shelf that is designed to site on the side rails, not one that goes into the holes.

I also have this problem with the same GE Profile series. The shelf sits above the "quick freeze" drawer. It's very annoying and I am looking for a way to fix it.

never heard of that happening, are you sure you're not missing a support that the shelf slides on or you have the wrong shelf for that spot.i'm sure you tried the shelves in all the slots,if the wall did push out like you say the only thing i can suggest is to buy another support and get longer screws and put the screw through both supports and hang them like a single support to make up the difference.next what caused this to happen,is the freezer staying cold?if you give a parts store your model number they will sell you the same shelves that you have.
There is not a recall per say on this issue but there is what's called a training bulletin.. The cabinet tends to spread out causing the shelves to fall out typically in the middle. Some models have wider shelves that will not fall out but also can not be pulled out due to the recess in the sides of the inside of the cabinet. The other fix is installing a little c clip on the sides of the trouble shelf in hopes that it will stop it from falling out. part # is WB4X174 and I have not had good results with them but it is a cheap fix. 2 per side are needed. Ge would have to be contacted to see if wider shelves are available but they are very expensive!
Drill a hole , at each end of the crack , to keep it from extending , then fill the crack ( and holes ) , with a white silicon caulk . Yes , you can use the freezer .
replace control board on back of unit there is a six by 10 inch cover on back your panel is in there cost aprox 169.00 dollers also replace bo0th thermisters bottem left of freezer looks like a white bullet the other is in fridge behind shelf trim located beside and underneath where the cold air blows into the fridge.
How old is this frig? If it is older that 12-15 years, get a new one. Make sure there is not blockage to keep the air from circulating properly. The vent from the freezer to the cooler should also be free from blockage as well.
